Hey Len, did they give the proper "provenance" telling you that it's basically a copy of the Mongoose? Didn't think so...

Any company spending over a year on individual design and testing, and thousands of dollars in doing so to make a unique design shows an original provenance. From this, it is clear they didn't simply make a 3D copy of Mongoose (which would take less than a day to accomplish). Or do you think every car is a copy of the Model T because it has 4 wheels too?

So they spent over a year and thousands of dollars to come up with a razor that takes the same blades and looks exactly like another "high end" SE? Wow, seems like a waste of time and money to me. I'm all for more competition in razors/brushes, etc. as I believe it's better for the hobby. But I think your going in the complete opposite direction of the position you so vehemently defended in the thread about inexpensive DE razors only because it's a razor that YOU are interested in.

Actually Jeff, I'm not interested in this razor, and I don't plan on buying. I just wanted to share for those who might be interested, and I thought it was a nice gesture.

And just because something looks the same or similar, doesn't mean it is. A 3D copy is different from separate design and testing. Apparently, Blackland Razors, also tried to develop an AC style SE, but found there were only very limited ways of changing the visual design, so he gave it up. But those are just visual cues, not what is under the hood. Also, Executive Shaving is not buying the same razor from the same plant in Pakistan as Mongoose. They are doing all the design and manufacturing themselves. This, I appreciate.

It's true. It's pretty tough to make a three piece AC SE razor without being Mongoose-like. Of course, that doesn't mean they won't differ in performance. I personally just don't find anything fun in designing something so similar to another product so I decided not to. I don't think it's wrong to do so, but it is kind of boring.
