Come on guys. Let's not make it personal.

KAV has a way of communicating in writing that can very easily be misinterpreted, especially by anyone that may not be familiar with his extremely formal style, but it is clear that he wishes no ill will towards members here, and that he does not hold himself as superior to anyone. Let's give him the absolute benefit of the doubt and presume that if we feel slighted by his post, it is a misunderstanding, not an intent. It's only fair.

Instead of presuming that we are all trying to attack each other, let's assume that we are all trying to be humourous, friendly, and cordial.

This stuff is not supposed to be so intense. Seriously, shaving, and this place in particular, is supposed to be a break...a respite...from the daily grind and hostilities we are all forced to participate with and live amongst.

Let's all try to drop the angst and animosity and move forward in a more positive manner.

Please?

THANKYOU and apologies if I ever offended you. I'm running out of forums to get banned from and even my old friend Freddy has limits to his JOB like endurance.

Offense? Nah. Life's too short to be offended. We've disagreed, and we've misunderstood, and we've debated, but I've not been offended. You and I are cut from different cloth, but I think our mutual love of this hobby, and respect for humanity in general, would be enough to see us through any interaction we would care to place ourselves in. We will not always agree on everything we discuss, but you have my respect, and I hope I have yours. That's enough to build a friendship.

Now Back to the Thread!

The only time for me is when I pair my prized razors (straight and DE) with my prized brushes and soaps for an over the top experience and then offer blessing to the shaving gods of the North for my good fortune. I am only a caretaker of these fine tools and try to enjoy them as completely as possible as long as they are in my possession. Here is an example of one exclusive pairing.

Gentlemen, this is what it is all about, having fun.  We are a site on the web so this means we are going to have different thoughts and different ways of approaching things.  KAVs a story teller.  If this isn't your way of seeing things then it's easy to ignore his posts and that is fair enough.  BadDadthank you for putting things into perspective and Doc47, thank you for getting the thread back on track.

Folks, we're here to learn, to laugh, to agree, and yes, to disagree but always with respect for our fellow members.

I tend to do some of those exclusive pairings. You wouldn't eat a well-cured, potent cheese with a white whine, would you?. Then, you don't pair Cella with Aqua Velva. Some examples would be... My Alvarez Gómez cream is almost invariably lathered with a Silvertip or a synthetic. Speick (regular or Active) is the lotion of choice, they do a good match, for they share a noticeable citrus note. MWF and Cella, I like to pair them with a boar brush. MWF can be combined with all my after shave lotions, but Cella, I usually pick the Speicks up as well. My Mystic soaps lather better with the help of a synthetic. All the other soaps can be used with any of my brushes, but I tend to combine Tabac with the regular Tüff lotion, that has a nice classic Barbershop scent that goes along with Tabac quite nicely.

Why anyone wastes their time reading posts by people they don't like is totally beyond me. Life's short, don't spend it on things which annoy you.

KAV, I'd love to tell you what my favorites are, but for me they are always changing. I don't really have favorites of anything, although I pretty much only shave with a very small rotation now.
