The other Jabonmans I have (before this group buy) Haitian Vetiver and Dama de Noche are wonderful though.

I wish places like shavedash sold Jabonman samples. Not liking the scent of a $20 soap is one thing, but not liking a $45 soap with 2 month wait is something else. I will try to pick up an East Breeze in near future.

I have a dama de noche, east breeze and sandalwood to put up in the bst tonight that were part of the group buy but never paid for..

Just shaved with Sandalwood. Interested to hear what you guys think now that you're finally going to get it.

I used the sandalwood for the first time last night and it was pretty awesome. when my shave was done, I removed the excess lather from the brush and rubbed it into my face so it didn't go to waste...that lather had a very buttery feel to it!

Just received East Breeze and Fougere. Sniffing out of the tin, the East Breeze is really nice, a warm spicy scent while the Fougere is surprisingly subdued by comparison. Very intrigued by both. I'll let them settle tonight and use in the morning.

The Rosa Bourbon is in transit.  I do hope it works out.  Some of the early posts here cause me a bit of concern.

The reason I had ordered the tin of Sandalwood was because I had gotten a sample of it with a previous order I had placed with Manuel and absolutely loved the scent and the performance of course was top notch. Unfortunately the tin of Sandalwood I received through the group buy almost seems like a different soap. The sample was very similar to Fines Santal Absolut scentwise but maybe a tad sweeter and a little less spicy in the fragrance. When I smelled the tin from the group buy what it reminded me of was the Eufros Agarwood soap, a very plain woody scent. I even wondered if an Agarwood had been labeled Sandalo by mistake. When I smell the sample and the tin from the group buy side by side they really do smell like different soaps. I'm hoping that with a little aging maybe the other scents come out and it starts to smell more like the sample I have. If not it's headed to the BST.

Used the Fougere this morning. The scent was a good, not overbearing, slightly dark fougere. Great scent, very enjoyable throughout the shave. Didn't last too long afterward which is fine. Skin conditioning is great as well. A very nice shave was had with this one. After I have several shaves with one, I'll update my impressions. Thanks again to Andrew for spearheading this one. This has been the year of great discoveries in soaps for me, and this is yet another.

A couple of notes on the Fougere and East Breeze. The East Breeze has a very strong opening of ginger, a big and bold ginger which I love. It also has other notes that smooth everything out, which I guess can be called an oriental spice, which follows the ginger shortly after. Great fragrance on this one, in my top three of the year for soaps. The Fougere has a sharp note to it which I can't figure out. The overall fragrance is much milder than the East Breeze, and a very good Fougere except for that one note. Still, very enjoyable. So far, I've used three and two band badgers, from 22 mm to 30 mm. I seem to get the best results with two band for some reason. Only one synth, and that was a Razorock Disruptor. All good there as well, although it seemed to lather up faster and denser with this one. All lathers were a merengue consistency and plenty slick. These soaps didn't shy away from lots of water, but we do have between soft water. I shave at least once a day, and had no issues as far as razor burn. Post shave was great; my favorite soap for post shave skin conditioning is still Stroppe Shop as it leaves my skin perfectly conditioned, but Eufros leaves it just as well conditioned and maybe just a bit more moisturized. And last, some heavily buttered soaps leave a lot of soap scum in the sink. Eufros has not done this yet. Great soap and pleased so far.
