Gents,

All of the Eufros shave soaps have performed in an absolutely SUPERB fashion, hitting on all cylinders for me.  However one stands out amongst the rest, and that is Dama De Noche.  I think it is one of the most beautiful fragrances in the game!

Great shave earlier today using it.

Meaning no disrespect, but out of the seven or so Eufros soaps that I have this one is my least favorite of the bunch.  The soap has become granular and not appealing to use over the course of a year since purchase.  This has not happened with any of the other Eufros soaps.

Also, I do not particularly like the scent though scent is subjective.  I much prefer Zanzibar, Ylang Ylang, Tobacco, Lima-Especias and Fougere.  I rank Sandalo below those but above Dama de Noche

No offense taken at all!  My DDN is over a year old, and I haven’t experienced the granular issue. That sucks.

I haven’t tried the lime...is it fantastic?

I almost used the Tobacco or Sandalo today, but then I saw my container of Wholly Kaw Merchant of Tobacco...went with the WK...beautiful big league shave!

I agree with you Matt. Dama is a wonderful scent. I often pair it with B&M Sinfonia AS and B&M Romance in Middlesex County EDP.

Oh...I will have to check those aftershaves out!  I was impressed with Barristers interpretation of what a bay rum aftershave should be!

Thanks!

This thread stuck out to me, since I just got out from “winter storage” my jar of Dama de Noche to use in the coming weeks. This is the perfect season for it, though I’m sure it’d be lovely in the winter, as well.

This has happened to my soap, as well. (Mine is from 2017.) The soap still performs well, though, and the scent seems strong as ever. (Good thing I really enjoy floral scents.)

Do you guys load on the puck?  I scoop, and I wonder if that is why none of mine have become granular.

I think I may use a Eufros, or perhaps tallow based coconut Haslinger.  Decisions Decisions!

Lima-Especias or lime spices is really nice. It has menthol which works very well with the spicy lime scent. I really like it. Notwithstanding what I have said about Dama de Noche, one of the very noteworthy things about Eufros is the high quality of the scents. All of them that I have tried are pleasant and natural. They invite you in to take a shave.

I still get a lather from it but it is not as easy to lather up as my other Eufros soaps. I like to carve off some soap and spread it around my copper lathering bowl and it is hard to do that will the granulated Dama de Noche. I had to take my brush onto the puck and load up that way.

I don't hate the scent. I just prefer other Eufros scents and reach for those more readily.

I used Eufros Tobacco today with a vintage Gillette English Flat Bottom Tech loaded with a vintage Wilkinson London Bridge Blade on its 7th use, and it was delightful.

I had two days of growth going in, and an irritation free BBS coming out...can’t ask for much more than that!

As a side note, I really really enjoy the English Flat Bottom Tech.  I like it so much, I acquired one for each of my sons to eventually use someday.  The only other razor that inspired me to do that was the 1946-47 Gillette Aristocrat.

If I remember correctly, I did use my Dama de Noche at first by loading straight from the tin. Not sure if that would have made a difference or not. (These days, I always load from a separate bowl.)

I’ve also seen a few other soaps exhibit those granules. I’m guessing it may depend on the ingredients and/or process. Nevertheless, a fine soap!
