Wow 105 today! Now that’s hot.
Yesterday we had a severe weather warning of a possible tornado and shortly after the warning it started raining so hard with the wind at 45 mph and the rain was finding ways inside. Thank goodness it was on the other side of the warehouse and not the ETHOS side. I lost some cardboard boxes and that’s about it.
Looks like it’s going to be partly sunny today and temperatures will be a little lower than they’ve been but with higher humidity.
Actually got up to 109 yesterday, I had received a few soaps from a trade with a fellow DFS member in the the mailbox for a little over an hour before I got them out.
An the problem is extreme heat or extreme cold almost always will affect the scent. That’s why I say if you get a soap or cream that turns liquid don’t put it in the freezer! It may get the soap harder faster but it will most definitely diminish the scent strength. The one and only good thing about a soap turning liquid is if someone wanted to modify the scent or add an essential oil or cooling ingredient it would be the time to do it but I certainly wouldn’t recommend using that technique unless it’s planned out carefully.
I did it once to a soap I wanted to try and in its travels across the country in the dead of summer I got a jar of citrus soup in my mailbox instead of hard shave soap. Smelling it I thought I like it but I felt it was a little to bitter citrus for my liking and there was an underlying note I didn’t like mixed with the citrus so I grabbed 3 different sweeter citrus essential oils and mixed them in while the soap was liquid and then left it to get harder again. I enjoyed that soap for quite some time and would pull it and use it especially in the warm weather all the way up till loosing it in the fire.
