Ha!  Just kidding...I do as well.  My DBV2 soap and splash arrived today, and here was a lather I got the other day with Succes.

Matt can lather margarine and dirt and turn it into a slick sheen whisker butter.

It is wonderful to have Frank's products. And good to see men taking care of their mugs.

His serum and scents are so top notch!

Of course the soap [creams] are too.

Gorgeous lather, Matt!

Did you use the same technique you use with the Sē'bŭm? 1 ml at a time, a couple of brush squeezes?

Hi Michael, and thanks!

Almost same technique.  I usually put 8-10 drops on top of sebum soap to just sit there while I am in the shower, and I squeeze the water out of the soaked brush before lathering.  I also use 1ml at a time with the Sebum, and do the brush squeeze.

When lathering the Ethos above, I did not put the drops of water on top while in the shower (doesn’t need it), and towards the end I added 2ml of water at a time since this soap base seems to have a bit of a wider sweet spot.

It’s a really nice soap, and I am planning to use the DBV2 that arrived yesterday in today’s shave.  I think I will have a window this afternoon where I can knock out a nice shave with that Koraat 14!  I think it took a super nice edge, and I am looking forward to it!

Have a good one!

Thanks so much, Matt-exactly what I suspected. I agree that the Ethos is a little more forgiving as far as the addition of water.

I made a very nice lather with very little effort with the Dragonsbeard first time out, and the scent is right up my alley and perfect for the cooler weather!

Just beautiful, Matt!

You know, I get completely those who say that a lather is just for shaving, and who cares what it looks like. I shaved for 5 straight years with a 'runny', 'unstructured' lather made with a Marseilles soap, oil, and paste. Great shaves, very unstructured lather.

But I'm in my 48th year of wet shaving (we used to call it 'shaving'!) and dammit, I like creating beautiful lathers with which to shave. Makes me happy!

The lather on all three passes is consistent, and even the 4th touch-up pass, I get the same density and volume as the first.

You've been a great help with your posts about lathering. Many thanks!
