"The information on how you can get the Razor with the 30% Discount will be announced next week."

EDIT1:  I added the photo that came with the email (scaled down).

EDIT2:  I added the quote about the 30% discount.  FWIW my current understanding is that this discount is directed at initial adopters and will only be granted to a limited number of them.  Will that change?  Perhaps we'll find out next week.

Thank you for sharing this post.. The limited number of razor with the 30% discount is confirmed. More detailed information will follow next week before the launch.

FWIW 8:00AM CET/20-JUN varies between 2:00AM and 3:30AM Father's Day morning along the east coast of North America.  That's unavoidable when you live on a spherical planet, but unfortunate for those of us who live in the region.  A middle-of-the-night drop is also not the best timing for the lucky fathers who want to wake up fresh to see their children and grandchildren the next morning. Well, c'est la vie, eh?  Family is more important than discounts any day.

Good luck Manuel.

Thank you very much for sharing this.

After reading this write up, it's clear to see the amount of trial and error that had gone into this razor. Especially the decision that was made to go full stainless with the clamp, so that the edge can be made thinner....than even the DX.

Hopefully Manuel will be able to find someone who can help boost the marketing aspect, because this does look like a quality made tool, and the backstory confirms it.

Very good review indeed. Manuel did put in a lot of work and had quitte a few setbacks in the proces such as factories that delivered things that didn’t live up to his standards. It was really interesting to be part of that whole process, it looks easy enough to bring a new razor to the market but boy what a work.

I know that Manuel has other things up his sleeve but it has to work out financially first and he won’t become rich at all with this shavette, it’s more like getting a foot in the door of the shaving world and luckily he knew that from the start.

As to taking out the blade: Once you’ve done it a few times it’s a matter of seconds but you can easily close the razor with a blade in it, just close it very careful until the blade rests onto the inner part, if you do it that way the edge won’t be damaged and you won’t feel a difference during the shaves, optically it’s just like 2 or 3 mm difference from a fully closed Essence without a blade. Or you can leave it a little bit open (say 5mm) after shaving.

I have tried both ways and after closing it completely couldn’t notice any difference in the blade after using it 15 times.
This was only to test if it could be done. I normally open all my razors after use and after cleaning and drying them with a towel leave the parts open for some time. As I turn the blades for the Essence always with each shave (found this does keep the blade longer going) I never leave it inside between shaves.

I must've missed the part regarding blade removal.
Hopefully it's not as tricky as it sounds.

Its no harder than learning to load a three piece razor after starting with a twist to open design.
