Here is something I'm finding more and more important to me in whether I buy a soap or not.  In fact, it's kind of becoming a deal breaker.  Three years ago, a guy was happy to find a good Artesian soap wherever he could find it.  Today, the consumer can be picky and arguably, get as good a shave, with an amazing scent, from a plethora of soap makers out there.  This, I feel, has made this point more relevant; stop sending me your soap in SMALL tubs.  I'm done with you if you do.

Soap makers, we have had a huge influx of bigger and better brushes in the last three years and the last year in particular, has seen an huge advance in great, monster knot synthetics at less than 20 bucks.   We want to use these brushes in your tubs/tins/containers.  Not everyone bowl lathers.  Some of us, want to tub right in and go to the face.  Have you tried this in some of the tubs you send us???  It's a damn nightmare.  The market today, means I no longer need to choose brushes to match soaps based on the container size; plenty of soap makers have gone to larger tubs, containing the same amount of soap, at the same price point.  If you refuse to do the same, even if if I like your soap, I won't re-order your offerings. If you have a small tub that is based on size comparitive to the brush offerings available three years ago, you might want to look at the brushes wet shavers are using today. There are simply too many good soaps shipped in big tins for us face lathers out there, to deal with the mess of trying to ram a huge knot in your tiny container.  eliminate small tins.... For the love of God.....please.

Or you could, also, transfer your soap into empty-shave stick containers. Big Grin

I hear what you're saying.

Not a deal breaker for me through.

I shave in the shower so I just lather with reckless abandon.
It can be disheartening to have a big glop of lather flop out of the container- for like a second. I probably rinse more out of my brush when I'm done though.

Only thing I can see keeping to a smaller container might help with shipping costs 'if' your vendor is using flat rate boxes.

I agree. While it is slightly annoying, not a deal breaker for me. B&M Latha for example...

I get what your saying if a guy or gal was in LOVE with a soap, container size wouldn't prevent him or her from not using that soap. For me, I grabbed five quick examples of soaps I love large and small containers alike, and for me, there isn't enough disparity between them to make me want the use a smaller brush just to use the soap with out a damn mess on my hands. There are too many good soaps out there shipped in large containers for me to deal with the hassle of a big brush in a small tin.

PERFECT example of a GREAT soap that annoys me because of container size. It's 11 bucks make it 12.50 if need be for a bigger container..... CF is 13 bucks for a soap I feel is right on par, I love them both for me, I'd rather spend 13 for a large tin than deal with the mess.... We are talking about 50 shaves or more with a tin of soap..... Let me use the brush I want without a mess for two bucks more.

You want width or depth primarily?
Both?

Like I said, I don't think about overflow so much as I'm in the shower. Never consider what size brush based on the container. If I was at the sink though I'd just hold everything over the sink. Not an option?

Paolo has a very generously sized container with his soap. @"Sapone Di Paolo"
Check it out.

Smells spectacular to me too.
I'm working on dialing my water in with it but I opened the container just to smell it every day since I got it I like it so much.

Steer clear of LPL by the way.

It would probably make you furious. Tiny container and filled almost to the brim.

Awesome stuff though!
