Big Grin Great discovery, and beautiful work, as usual!

Thanks.  I'm not promoting procrastination, but merely trying to justify my own predispositions.

No worries from me on that front – I recently learned that procrastination is a trait often exhibited by those who are perfectionists. I don’t want to promote procrastination, either, but it might be nice to be able to link it to something positive, which in this case would be the meticulous work that you do. Smile

I have just added the brush shown below to my site.  This handle can be adjusted to accept either a 24mm or 26mm knot.

This is a handcrafted handle made from Madagascar Plum burl, which is native to Africa and some warmer areas in Asia.  The wood is very hard and the burl has a lattice work of voids throughout.  This wood in virtually unknown in the marketplace and the burls are exceptionally rare.  The leaves and root are used as a treatment for snakebite and the bark is believed to be effective in relieving arthritis.  The tree is relatively small and is used as a hedge plant. This piece of Madagascar Plum burl was combined with a transparent Neo-Resin with iridescent blue trails running through it to create this stunning piece.

Please remember that 40% of the purchase price of each handle will be donated to The Giving Kitchen, a non-profit organization, in your name.

Just out of the shop.  This handle is made of Black Ash Burl and features accent rings of Gold Laced Onyx.  It is set up to accept a 26mm knot.

Black Ash burl is native to the Great Lakes and Acadia regions of North America.  The wood of black ash is strongly ring-porous, making it ideal for basketry splint, barrel hoops, snowshoe frames, canoe ribs, and material for woven chair seats.  It is darker colored with more grain and used largely for furniture and interior finish.  Black ash is an important tree for the making of lacrosse sticks used by the Mohawk and other tribes of the Eastern United States.  The inner bark of the black ash was used to make a bark barrel by the Iroquois which was made for storing dried vegetables, fruits, and seeds, as well as clothing. The tree traditionally was a valuable medicine to many tribes in Eastern North America.
