Bob, that Kauri is something else, considering its age… How hard is it to come by?

The Kauri is a pretty straight grained wood and I don't get it very often. It is unusual to find a piece that shows some figure in the wood.

Bob Quinn, I did notice from the one you had most recently made, that there was not a lot of figure in the wood. However, knowing the background of the material elevates its status quite a bit, even if it doesn’t exactly look its age.

I've been kind of stuck in Shaving Brush mode, so I thought I would turn some attention to a few razor handles.

Blue and Red - I cast this handle out of the same colored resin that I used to build a recent shaving brush.  The results are pretty close.

Red, White and Blue - Faded  For this handle, I was trying to replicate a Barber Pole that had been weathered and faded.
