Haha true. At least this mark is on the handle vs the head.

I know what you mean. But I think in a few weeks you will have come to accept it and not even think about it anymore. Marks like that are the tactile impressions of time and experience. I don't think we will ever be able to dodge them all.

If it helps, that's a nicer razor than the ones that I own, blemish or no blemish! ?

Shaven in the Past
Nuts but It could have been so much worse. A chip out of the cap or...... Still a heck of a looker though.

drdeemanda, If it really bothers you one of the restoration guys could fix it. We all get bummed when these type things happen, yet at the end of the day, we are all human and we drop things, or make any number of errors.

Muhle might help you out at a reasonable price as well.

There is a site that appears to be Muhle USA. The only thing that concerns me a little is the spelling of web address as I've never seen Muhle spelled that way:

I believe it’s a somewhat “old school” way of spelling names/words that have umlauts in them.

Finnish ski jumper Matti Nykänen used to be master of the sport, before he retired, started hitting the booze and became a pop star. (Whole other story.) In international competitions, it was common to see his name “Nykänen” spelled as “Nykaenen”.

Nowadays, it seems more common to just drop the umlaut. Hence, Mühle → Muhle.

Only Matsilainen could find a way to tie Matti and shaving. What a classic story that is, Kaurismäki material.

Anyway, Muhle has great customer service, it's worth contacting them.

Posting Freak
Yes, I'm familiar with the feeling of horror as a dropped item plummets (seemingly in slow motion) to the tile floor. I dropped my DFS LE Envy Shave brush a while back and the aluminium handle took a dent much like the one on your razor and the knot broke out of the handle too - the plug/epoxy fractured. It was a tough hit but with some marine epoxy the brush is back in one, functional piece. The dent remains, however, as a reminder to be careful. I also live in constant fear of dropping the Rockwell razor stand on my toe and breaking it! Or maybe worse, missing my toe and breaking the tile!! Every morning I ponder a safer alternative. Big Grin

It would be great to see a movie of Matti’s life, especially if he starred in it himself. Smile

Considering all the things that we pick up and use with wet hands (brushes, razors, aftershave bottles), it’s almost a miracle that more things don’t fall and break. (Or is it that people just don’t often share those stories?)
