Hey Jason,
from my understanding each ingredient has its own purpose and in this case it’s for skin food and post shave prosperities. i’m sure Frank will have a better answer than me

Two good questions and honestly I could write 3 pages on the benefits of the EOS Complex and another one on the benefits of what Camels milk have on the skin but I don't wanna bore you or anyone else on here.

The EOS Complex which is a proprietary complex I've been working on for a little over 2 yrs with both a certified cosmetic chemist I work with quite often and a couple of high quality ingredient companies that are very well known in the personal care industry. BTW EOS Stands for Earth Ocean Science and there's a long story behind that but I'll save that for another day. Originally it was going to go into a skincare line that I was working on which I was going to add to my existing hair care line which would also get the EOS complex but after doing the math it would be price prohibited to put it in my haircare line because I have 30 different products as of right now and some come in different sizes so it's like 50 SKUs total and they would all have to be changes as far as labeling ( Silkscreening ) restested for product compatibility etc etc. So basically I'd have to start all over again! So when some of my shaving brothers kept bugging me to start my own Grooming line at first I was like no way! To busy with what I'm doing already and I'd like to enjoy life a bit but then after sleeping on it for a few weeks and after some careful thought I decided to look more deeply into it so here I am 6 months later with my first products in the ETHOS line with many more to come. Just to be clear the EOS Complex will be added to probably 90% of the line moving forward and in different amounts depending on the product and its function. Like I said it's a proprietary complex and at the early stages of this product line I'm not going to openly divulge all the ingredients in it for the obvious reasons. Although it would be very difficult to duplicate because it will always be in a product containing many other ingredients at this time I won't list all the 34 ingredients. I will give some info on it at this time and I will say when the line is stable and has grown some I have every intention of displaying the 34 ingredients that are in it and and the benefits each one brings to the table or should I say to good skin health! I will say that we start out fermenting Sea plants like Red, Blue, Green and Brown Sea Algae and go from there adding many more ingredients at different stages of the manufacturing process and at different heat settings and shear speeds etc. I'll also say there are some ingredients that most would recognize like Aloe and Allantoin for example and there are many that are very exotic and rare that most wouldn't. There are also a couple of wonderful environmentally responsible man made ingredients in the complex. I'd say 90% of the Complex is naturally derived. It also contains proteins and amino acids as well. So hopefully that gives you somewhat of an idea of what is in the EOS Complex. The skin benefits in it are what I hope traditional shavers will appreciate the growing benefits with more continuous usage. Most ingredients are what we call active or they penetrate the skin rather than lie on the skin's surface. The other thing about this complex is it's almost as thin as water! No oily or sticky feeling in the post shave which was my goal as I personally don't like that feeling at all.

Camel milk is very beneficial to the skin as well as Sheeps milk and although they both bring some common benefits they each also have some important properties that the other one doesn't or at least in large doses. Camels milk contains many nutrients and vitamins. Example Camels milk has 3 times the amount of Vitamin C compared to Sheep's milk for example. It also contains Elastin, Omega-3 fatty acids and natural lanolin. Vitamin C helps to stimulate collagen production which our bodies naturally produce as well as elastin, but as we age the amount that our bodies produce starts to go down.

So some of the simple benefits of Camels milk are:
Moisturizing & Softening
Plumping up the skin and helping to reduce fine lines and wrinkles.
Reducing redness and irritation which is common in shaving for some folks.
Detoxifying and It also relieves oxidative stress that can be caused by many things like smoking, drinking, environmental pollutants, free radicals and toxins etc

There's a bunch more detailed info but overall the results are healthier skin cells

Hope that sort of answers your questions and thank you for the good post!

Thanks Jason
I have put a lot of thought into this new venture and I think it’s the perfect fit for the EOS complex. So I’m pretty excited about the next few months and getting more products out there.

Hope you enjoy the products!

Just finish shaving with the E.O.D collaboration (Ethos, Oleo, and Dragonsbeard) however I prefer to call it the "End Of Days" soap.

I would have to say that the shaving experience from start of finish was very pleasant. Off the puck the scent I would place at a medium light transitioning to light once lathered on the face. The scent itself is quite enjoyable it is a dry chocolate scent to me. In my opinion you cannot truly "smell" the Agarwood and Oud but you can definitely tell it plays a part in the olfactory chemoreceptor. I say that as I believe it is these ingredients that parts the somewhat "dry" smell to the chocolate. Although the scent profile is on the lighter side of the spectrum and often not an enjoyable aspect for me I would say it is very scintillating. Meaning to me every time you catch a whiff of it, it tends to spark a sense of delight and intrigue. I tend to fine myself pausing the shave just so I can smell the lather on my brush. If only the scent was stronger however I ponder if it would lose the "leave you wanting more" effect if it was.

On to the performance it is easily one of the easiest to load soap I have in my den. Which is surprise as from experience shaving soap that contains milk tend to be a bother. This soap has all the traditional qualities of a well made artisan milk soap. It has great regular & residual slickness, post shave, cushioning,  and a dense lather.

Topic of note to me that I discovered whilst experimenting during my shave is that the lather tends to be better with a higher ratio of water. By that I mean you truly want your lather is glisten to get the best performance as it increases the regular & residual slickness of the shave. I would say that should one do say there is a slight degradation to the cushioning aspect of the soap but it is still more then enough to get the job done even though a more aggressive razor; used a Rex Ambassador on 6 setting in this instance. Additionally two more aspect of intrigue  was sparked during this shave. One was the fact that during the shave the lather felt VERY soft and moisturizing. I would not account this to the soap but more so to the EOS complex. I am not sure of all the ingredient but in my mind from what little I know of it I would say it is due to the Algae. Should one ever use any face serum with Algae you would know it has a thicker substrate (meaning it makes a product more gel like), is moisturizing as it contain some humectant properties, but also when it dries it leave a very pleasant film on the skin not isn't noticeable outside of how positively it impacts your skin. As such typically at the point in which a lather starts to lose it moisture content and dries out, the lather in this soap continues to prevail, and maintains its moisture content for a longer period of time; leading to a longer and more pleasant shaving experience.

The last aspect that surprised me about the shave was the post-shave feel. As I was washing the lather off my face and brush I noticed that I was "squeaky" clean. Typically that is a bad sign to me as it means the all the oil was stripped of your face and your skins acid mantle was disturbed to larger degree then with a more gentle cleansing. However over pat drying my face with my waffle weave towel I detected that my face was actually quite moisturized. I am definitely interested and am trying to guess what in the ingredient lends to this aspect but cannot think of a single one; probably a mystery ingredient from the EOS complex.

Lastly here is a photo of what I used today. Please forgive me for the horrible quality / setup I am not a photographer by trade nor would I want to be; I take horrendous photos!!!

That’s exactly what I wanted to hear from a review as that was my goal. To feel a clean skin post shave without a heavy film, oiliness or stickiness residue left on the skin. What you are felling are the multiple benefits of the 34 ingredients that are in EOS complex as many of them are focused on different ways to actively deliver over all good skin health without clogging up pores or just giving the face a temporary feeling of moisturizing.

Thank you sir for nailing the properties of the soap! I’ll take your comments on the scent strength to heart. Reall Oud resin and Agarwood oil are basenotes and because they are extremely expensive I would have had to raise the price of the soap even higher than it is. The EOS complex and real Sandalwood and Camels milk also adds to the cost so I may be able to work on getting it to be a bit stronger once the line becomes more known and I can buy in bigger quantities to reduce material costs a bit that would allow for and increase in the amount of the Oud and Agarwood oil I can add to it. Funny you and another member mentioned a Chocolate type aroma and it’s funny I got more of a balsamic note out of it but I just went and smelled it again and I can see where some may get a slight chocolate aura from it but I swear I put no Hershey’s chocolate kisses in it LOL

Again thanks for the honest review and feedback!
It’s very much appreciated !
