I just dip my razor and blade in a jar of rubbing alcohol after each shave, when not traveling.

Since I started doing this, I feel like I get a few more shaves per blade. Might be in my head, but I'm going with it for now.

Everytime I get cut I just rub a little dirt on it and get right back to business

I personally think that wiping the razor blade with alcohol is not necessary. Who knows if the alcohol does affect the razor blade as you already know there are some blades that do have coatings such as teflon, platinum etc Confused2  I have a pack of crystals razor blades aka israeli  personna  and right on the package wrap it states do not wipe rinse and shake dry Confused2 . I will rinse my razor blades regardless of which razor blade I am  using  with soap and water. I will proceed to shake dry or fan dry and not wipe them. I store my razor blades away from any moisture cool dry place storage to prevent oxidation aka rust which can at times not be seen immediately in the beginning stages with the eyes and it is more seen with a microscope. This in turn can hinder the performance of the blade.  Party Just my 2 cents  Party

+1 and pat it dry. I can't see any reason for an alcohol bath other than, "Because I want to."

I rinse with water and then dunk the razor head in 91% alcohol and swirl around.

Nope. That would be a waste of good whiskey.

Just a rinse of the razor head under running water and shake dry, and pat dry the razor. The blade stays in its assigned location awaiting its next shift.
