I remember that from B&B! Cool color effect from the steam.

Boar brushes, brass razors, and hard pucks ARE traditional wet shaving. Everything else is modern day fluff for the girly men.

It's like the blues, the best stuff comes from dead guys.

That was mine as well. Second brush was a Simpson special that shed like craY and got trashed.

no. my first brush was 1 of those burma brushes you'd find at kmart. my first kit was a burma brush, williams soap and one of those flinestones mugs you'd buy at mcdonalds. I had absolutely no idea what I was doing at the time and the shaves were pretty miserable, so I threw everything out..

Yes - a Fendrihan badger brush. Several Amazon reviews indicated the knot fell out after a couple months. Guess what...so did mine Big Grin

One of these days, I plan to superglue the knot back in. I don't want to get rid of it simply due to the fact it was my first brush

I still have and use my first, a Vilfix 2236s in imitation ivory. I bought it from a small specialty baber supply store in Richmond. Used it exclusively for 8 years and still reach for it occasionally dispite having north of 60 brushes. It's a great cream brush.

Mine was a Parker pure badger — found it on Amazon when I didn’t have a very good idea of what I was doing. Well, the pure Parker was pure junk. It was not comfortable on the skin, and the knot fell out of the handle soon after the logo had faded (which was rather quickly). That was a good thing, because I tossed the Parker and then finally got to experience what a decent brush should actually feel like.

Whenever I go to shave, I assume there’s someone else on the planet shaving, so I say “I’m gonna go shave, too.”

I got my first one about two years ago. It was an Omega 98 brush which I still own, although I find it too big for my liking. Still use it occasionally though.

Actually just sold mine 2 months ago it was a Kent Blk4 Silvertip. It drove me mental and made me hate badgers until I tried a 2 band. I won’t even bother with another 3 band.

Mine was a Tweezerman. Long gone.

The second was a Rooney 3/1 Super, still have it and use it.

My first brush was part of an Art of Shaving kit my wife bought me for Christmas. Probably what would equate to Pure variety of hair with trimmed tips. I used it religiously for quite some time as it was all I knew. Once I got hit by the bug and was knee deep in shaving forums I realized that brush just wasn’t cutting it. I moved on to a West Coast Shaving Shavemac 3 band silvertip and used that brush for years only finally selling recently. I’ve moved on to all 2 bands once I found my preferences in density and tip softness.
