Do you let your soap dry?

I must be even more of an odd duck than BadDad because I put the lid on right after I finish loading my brush. I have been doing this for the past six years and I have never encountered any issues with my soaps, some of which I have had for more than a few years.

I'm with BadDad on this one - its pretty dry where Iive and i'll leave the lid off until I'm done shaving and clean up. Technically its not bone dry but I consider that to be letting my soap dry and I voted accordingly. I don't bloom extensively - I'll fill the soap tub up with hot water then pour it off immediately and place the lid back on without screwing it on while I shower etc.

Things dry quickly here - I'll hang my brush upside down for about half the day then place it bristles up for the rest of the day and the brush is bone dry by evening. On the down side, I have a tube of chap stick in every coat pocket and I get wicked knuckle/finger splits.

You might want to contemplate using unrefined shea butter on your hands. It performs miracles, occasionally.

True story, when I started wet shaving I always left the lid off over night (I always bloom so I can load easier and not irritate my arthritic wrists) after about a year I started putting the lid on at bed time, the change was for no particular reason. Since early this year I leave the lid off and will normally put it on the next time I'm in the bathroom. I haven't noticed any differences at all in soap look, performance or feel. The only exception to this is MdC, it always sits 24 hours because it is a cured soap and the water wouldn't necessarily be good for it. At least that's what I remember reading on their web site.

I forgot to think about this, yes this an excellent reason to bloom. As someone whose dealing with an injury right now, I can surely relate. Kindly pardon my post if it was insensitive.

I place them next to a small fan for 24 hrs.  A little OCD here but I've only been at this since September.

I rarely have the soap open for more than the time it takes to shave. Since Colt jars and Parkway Jars allow for the water to evaporate out anyway and are the dominant packaging style these days, there is little need to do otherwise.

Leave the lid off for 24 hours and than put the cap back on. Never any problems.

I work from home and leave the lid off until I walk in the bathroom and it looks dry - usually a couple of hours at most.

Same. I soak my brush then shake it a few times and load. By the time I'm done shaving the soap is dry, I let it set on the shelf for hour or so. I don't want to overdry(happen to cell and prorasso when I forgot them for over 5 hours) and I also don't want to lose the scent. People leave soaps uncovered to weaken scents. The longer it's left open the faster you're have a scentless soap. I already have trouble smelling some of my older soaps.
