First, the scent. Imagine a Bay Rum that doesn’t just slap you in the face and leave you wondering why you bothered. No, this is something different, this is how Bay Rum was meant to be! We went deep—real deep—diving into the very soul of Bay Rum. Five years, folks. Five long years spent perfecting a scent that’s more than just spice and citrus. It’s made with 100% Pure Essential Oil and ZERO CLOVE!
There is Absolutely NO REASON for clove to be in a Bay Rum aftershave. For one, the stuff will burn the hell out of your skin, some fellas react worse than others but it can happen. Two, the West Indian Bay and Clove are cousins from the same family and possess so many similar traits. So much so, most folks assume they are smelling clove when they are just smelling part of the West Indian bay leaf profile.
In researching why clove was so often used I was brought back to rum making. In traditional Spiced Rum, clove as well as many other spices were/are used. Naturally when combining Bay and Rum in early traditional recipes clove would end up in the blend by default...it was infused in the rum that was used! Rum that was meant to be quaffed and consumed, not splashed on freshly shaven skin or used to fragrance a bitch'n pomade. So for that, you will find zero clove in Steve & our product!
But Enough About Us...
While we had been doing our mad scientist thing, Steve Lockhart was hard at work too. You see, we couldn’t let a scent this good just float in any old product. It had to be special—something unique. That’s where Lockhart’s NEW, Hybrid Formula comes in. He took the best parts of a clay, a paste, and a fiber product, mixed them together, and created something entirely new.
What Does it do? Glad you asked:
Hold: Firm enough to keep you looking sharp all day, but never stiff.
Shine: Matte—not flashy, but like you, always in control.
Texture: Thick and creamy, just the way you like it.
