Saddest thing seen in quite some time. They gave their baby and got a dead body, license plate and surrender to handful of unarmed illiterate peasants with exploding Coke bottles. Heartbreaking. Seriously almost broke down

Good God it gutting

When a child these drab green cars with white star would show up in our community and entire farming village would immediately go into panic worrying if it was their son, then collectively cry for days. It beyond belief the agony of losing a child or friend.  Most of US people don't actually get exposed to war even in military, that reserved for white trash like my people. Even with university degrees and commission they viewed us as less than human. We simply don't matter; that is why all our jobs shipped overseas but not the good jobs for the right people that do matter.

What do you say to that parent?  So sorry we failed your son and let our elite get away with it

Initially liked the above comment but that is, upon reflection, less than an optimal response.

Ideally, would wish the leadership to experience an epiphany wherein they came to regard their fellow countrymen, performing the daily tasks that keep the nation running, raising the children by foregoing personal aggrandizement, cleaning up the emergencies resulting from self serving and self enriching policies that clearly were foreseeable and ineluctable in long and short term devastation with the fellowship, inclusion all the citizens rightly deserve. Even better, to amend their lives to use their positions and privilege to build a better world for all, starting here so that there finally can be a shining city upon a hill gleaming not from debauchery afloat in a sea of despair and suffering but ringing out amongst plenty.

de Blasio is admittedly a fool but one of the wisest observations made in recent decades is that there truly is plenty of wealth, it just concentrated in the wrong hands; 'wealth' could easily be substituted with 'opportunities' so young men would not be compelled to fight never ending meaningless foreign wars to get a pittance towards education, health care or a chance at housing.  Instead, as Adam Smith suggested in Wealth of Nations, too often the service ends in flag ceremonies, license plates and eternal grief; just as unfortunately, physical and psychological scars that never heal.  War has an unfortunate place but not as it has become, solely an industry for profit and culling those the leadership unwilling to accept as equals

Why isn’t this in The Longe sub forum? Doesn’t seem to have anything to do with general shaving discussion…

moved and locked as this could veer off into political discussion which we try to avoid on DFS.
