Posting Freak
There have been some incredibly useful Threads and Posts on DFS that I've encountered since becoming a member a couple of years ago and given the nature of a forum such as this some of these posts get buried by subsequent posts and the passage of time.  Given the growth in membership it occurred to me that many of the newer members might not have seen many of these posts so I thought it would be a good idea to revive what I consider to be very interesting and useful posts and threads by providing a link under this Thread I'm calling DFS Greatest Hits - you know you've made it when you release a greatest hits albumSmile.  I'm going to take the time to dig in to the old posts and threads to locate what I consider to be worthy subjects for this Thread and I'll post links here.  I invite other members to feel free to post links to threads they consider worthy for Greatest Hits consideration.

My first Greatest Hits is a comprehensive Thread on Fragrance Terms by churchilllafemme  - I found this thread to be both fascinating and informative and I want to thank churchilllafemme for the obvious time and effort he put in to it. Here it is:

This is an excellent idea!  The one that has probably helped me the most is primotenore's lather preparation compendium:

I really enjoyed grim's quest to find the best soap.

It also pushed me over the edge to actually try some of the top soaps in the elite category.

Good idea. And thanks for the appreciation. It was fun to do that thread, and I might revive it sometime.

What a great read! I thoroughly enjoyed this, and the only Soap that I've tried in his "Elite" ranking is MDC. Time to try some SMN!

Yeah, that thread is hands down the best in DFS (imo). i made a big purchase from Shavedash after reading this. And then went on to buying full tubs of the ones I liked.

Thanks, Marko, for starting this thread and pointing out the thread by churchilllafemme.

And, thanks, John@"churchilllafemme", for all of your research and writing in the "Fragrance Terms" thread. I missed that thread somehow and just read through it tonight. Good stuff!

Greatest Hits...the ones with the arguing is the one I remember enjoying....

Naw I'm kidding. I enjoy the vendor threads as I find them to be a bit more personal here on DFS. But I also participate in the SOTD most frequently on here compared to any other forum I have been on.

I'm happy to see that this thread is off to a good start - this is exactly what I was intending to do. There is no doubt that there have been some very entertaining threads/posts featuring spirited discussion of various topics and even a few that did not end with bans or the thread being closed Big Grin but the intent of this thread is to post links to those educational, informative or entertaining threads and to pay tribute to those members who have invested time and effort for the benefit of the rest of us. Maybe we can start another thread featuring most spirited discussions without crossing the line - to be fair, members at DFS are generally well behaved, considerate and respectful of one another even while in disagreement.

Thanks
Marko
