Declaration Grooming + Chatillon Lux: Collaboration Soaps Coming Soon

I received the Delor de Treget soap from Sudsy Soapery today. Smells divine. I look forward to tomorrow’s shave, starting with the new soap, and ending with Delor aftershave. Should be a great day!

This Saturday at high noon Eastern is not only the West Egg release, but also Chatillon Lux’s summer seasonal, 88 Chestnut Street, will also come out. It will be available in aftershave, toner, a 100 mL EdC, and in Declaration Grooming’s Icarus base.

This, like many others, was inspired by Farina’s original Eau de Cologne, which was sold by Clamorgans in St. Louis as one of the first places it was available in America. It was originally called Fourth and Pine, but doing some research I learned they first carried it at their original location at 88 Chestnut Street.

This is most definitely NOT a coniferous scent, but rather it has notes of **neroli, lemon, bergamot, lavender, orange, petitgrain, grapefruit, and yuzu** in the aftershave/toner/soap, and the EdC features **neroli, lemon, grapefruit, yuzu, orange, petitgrain, lavender, jasmine, geranium, vetiver, coumarin.**

Lucky for me, I’ve got 2-1/2 bottles of Fourth and Pine aftershave... And a couple of tubs of the soap. And the EdC.

Turns out, Clamorgans initially started carrying Farina's Eau de Cologne (the inspiration for this scent and so many others, like 4711) at their original location at 88 Chestnut Street (coincidentally, right in the same vicinity of the downtown post office where the majority of shipments from Chatillon Lux get dropped off).

I wish Scott at Declaration had kept this scent in the legacy bison base, which I prefer to Icarus—though Icarus works fine. I fear the release of soaps in the bison base will slow to a crawl...
