Just thought I would add this Instagram post excerpt from Declaration Grooming on what historical knot Scott thought matched up with the B17:

"B17 is finally here! Cloudy, medium soft tips, good backbone - excited about this batch (Reminds me of B4 before y'all ask)..."

I have been quietly using a new to me B14 that I thoroughly enjoy, particularly for face lathering. I would be curious how the B17 knot matches up to the B14 but will have to infer from the B4 reference for now.

Thanks for sharing, so I really love the B4 but unfortunately I didn't enjoy B14 as found it way to gelly and extremely dense also which I don't think is the best combo as find the brush really hogs the lather and definitely need to load longer on these kind of knots, I prefer more natural feeling knots though so that's just my preference, I really love B16 and literally most other batches very curious to hear more about B17 not sure if anyone has used it yet

Thanks LORENZO44 That is a very helpful set of data points. The B14 is the first gelled knot I have owned. It may be because I am coming off a heavy rotation of the Wald A1 synthetics, but I just found the B14 to be a pleasing face latherer with its overall face feel and density. My natural hair brush collection is relatively small with a historical focus on synthetics, but I am returning to the rabbit hole of natural hair brushes. So it wouldn't take too much contemplation to expand my DG collection into some of the more natural feeling knots. Smile

Ok I see interesting, well the great thing about declarations is that each batch is different and offers different characteristics, some people prefer high gel and extreme density while others prefer more natural feeling like B3 for example they really offer something for everyone, I have my favorite batches but overall I enjoy variety so pretty much have liked all there batches the only ones I got rid of was b14 and B13. Getting into badger brushes is definitely an expensive rabbit hole to get into so be careful lol
Wald synthetics are incredible I'm sure you are loving that Smile
