Even though the name isnt quite fitting, I chose to use Stirling Christmas Eve for the Eve's Eve. Did that confuse anyone else? Lol.

My kids call today "Christmas Adam."

Good one! Though I was a little slow getting it!

TurnNShave untreated shoat knot in the Fluffy Industries Copper handle
GEM Heavy Flat Top (G bar)
Personna GEM (4)
Ethos Clean

The Fluffy Copper with the shoat knot made a beautiful lather. And the G Bar made its first appearance for a shave since acquired at the beginning of the month. Dave had loaned me one back in March, and as I got more entranced by the GEMs I finally added this one. My initial notes from March where sparse, stating the razor was ok. I was smitten with the Sabre and didn't give the Heavy Flat Top enough time. Today's shave was outstandingly good. I am debating Groundhog Daying the brush again, but the soap on deck is in a small container. In any event, have a great weekend, folks! Be merry, be healthy, and be safe!

DecemBoar Shave #19

Razor: Gillette Heritage
Blade: Gillette Platinum
Brush: Omega 49 boar
Soap: Cella
A/S: Captain's Choice Italia
[Image: pseWKJN.jpg]
Last year the Heritage was on sale for $24. I tried to purchase two, one for my son and one for myself. A'zon did not allow me to purchase two. I saw this razor for the same price earlier this week, and impulsively purchased it. Did I need it? No. Is my son still using his? No, he prefers the Rockwell 6S I will never see again Smile . I know from past experience with this Muhle R89 head that I need to shim this razor as I do with Gillette Techs. Last week I used two Techs and a Star with no shim and got excellent results. I thought I would try this one "as is." Three passes + touchup pass later I was not at all satisfied with the shave. I switched to the Henson AL 13 medium for a final pass and am finally satisfied with my shave. Continued with the Henson on the solar panel and achieved the usual excellent 2 pass + touchup BBS cue ball.

Merry Christmas y'all.

Merry Christmas y'all.

I bought my son his own Rockwell 6s right off the bat and it’s his daily driver. It’s now the razor that I’ll recommend and will even gift to new wet shavers to give them the best shot at a positive beginner experience in the lower plates and the ability to try the higher plates.

Merry Christmas

The Henson is an awesome razor. Very hard to be the smooth effortless shave you get.

Your son is a smart one. The Rockwell is a good razor. I sold my 6s some time ago as I do not enjoy the rough finish coupled with the weight. Nonetheless, the performance was comfortable and competent. I've been considering a 6c again, just to have around. I just can't justify it, as others shave as well and it is doomed to break (zamak cap, post, and handle).

Merry Christmas (Eve) to you as well!

When the kids are aged teen to young adult, it is very easy to get up well before them, even on Christmas morning. Here I am smelling about as manly as any man can Smile

A Tabac-mas shave? I'm sure Fluffy would greatly approve.

Unfortunately, I still have a younger child (10) who was up before me (and before the sun). My shave will have to be snuck in later.

Merry Christmas my friend. Hope you have a wonderful day with the family (whenever they wake up, lol).
