And there's the key to genius. If you have a wild-assed-guess, get other people do the experimental procedures on their stuff. Don't risk your own stuff.

Wait, what? I thought that was the one you already had success with.

There is a lot of patina, both green and blue, in the socket. The water, copper, and silicone are up to some interesting chemistry! I will get a picture tomorrow before I start the cleaning. 



The cleaning of the socket was the other issue, so that when I reset the knot, it does not get discolored again. A solution of white vinegar and salt, in a 3:1 or 4:1 ratio was suggested. Let the solution sit on the area for a few minutes (20 I think) then wipe it down with a microfiber cloth.

Looking for advice. When I set the Turn N Shave nongelled shoat in my Fluffy Industries Copper handle, I guess I didn't coat the socket with silicone. So patina has leached into the knot. 



Any thoughts on removing it, the patina? I pulled the knot this afternoon, and am soaking the base. I suspect this is just cosmetic, but with rosacea, I can make myself worry! Dare I try a little bleach? 

Right now, if soaking doesn't leach it back out, I think my choice is reset and see if it doesn't bother me, or ditch it and get another. 

BTW, the Timberwolf that was previously in the handle didn't have this, but I should inspect it. And Ken thinks it would be fine, but just look like a teenager's bad hair dye!

Here is the outcome, using information received from our fine community! 
Hydrogen peroxide cleaned up the stains in the lower part of the knot to an acceptable level. 


And a bit of salt and water mixture cleaned up the socket, followed by some light sanding with really fine wet/dry sandpaper. Then I applied super thin CA in 3 coats to act as a sealer. 



The Fluffy Industries Copper brush that was broken will be reset, and all shall bow before it!

Good job Eric, checked mine and still no issues but you have me watching it ......
