I'd suggest using a good soap/cream and shaving with zero pressure. Using no pressure, combined with a properly slick soap, will ensure that you don't irritate your skin. Don't be afraid to relather a trouble spot between passes or even strokes. Think of lather as a lubricant. Dragging a blade across your face without lubricant is not recommended lol.
