Greetings fellow shaving enthusiasts!
We would like to take a moment to introduce ourselves! We are David A. Bronson Jr. and James J. O'Neill Jr., owners of the relatively new (we opened mid July '15) David James Shaving Supply Co.
We are located in the Raleigh-Durham area of North Carolina, specifically in the town of Wake Forest.
Our goal in opening David James Shaving Supply Co. was 2 fold;
1. We wanted to expand our hobby, the love of traditional shaving, into an entrepreneurial endeavor to help serve the online wet shaving community.
2. To start earning seed money for a MUCH needed brick and mortar shop here in the Raleigh area of North Carolina.
So far, it has been a wonderful success! Our business model has a couple of simple, but key points such as to offer products that we personally use and approve of, and, whenever possible, to pair up with other Veteran business owners in and around the wet shaving community. For example, our first 2 Artisans we engaged were the owners of Soap Commander and Reef Point Soaps (Both Navy Veterans, such as myself
)
My shaving background started as a young 17 year old Navy Corpsman recruit back in 1990. I found that the frequent shaving required by Navy standards, combined with my lack of experience and "soft" skin brought about by my age and lack of shaving, led to much irritation caused by disposable and multiblade razors and products such as canned shaving foam and gel. An older sailor suggested that I try a single edge safety razor and brush/soap and viola, once I got the technique down, no more irritation! I haven't looked back since.
