So yesterday ended up longer than expected as it was not his follow up to the surgery which is NEXT Friday (can't keep the appointments straight) This was with a new Doc in Neurology for is Myasthenia gravis and going over his files to get caught up and tests to figure a new plan for dealing with why it's flaring up again took awhile. Thankfully this guy seems on the ball and cares about helping people. Nice Doctor. I can always tell if they are there to pump people thru and collect a check or want to get to the root of things and help improve quality of life. Got home 6ish and got caught up with what the day brought here with the wife (She has her health issues also which I won't elaborate on) and then got the call from the Out-Laws (Term of affection  Big Grin) My mother-in-law who has dementia (and why we moved here to be close to help) was wanting to kick her husband out of the house again. She thinks he's some guy that just moved in and wants her Richard back. I seem to be the only one that can get her calmed down and joking again enough to let her husband stay. What a roller coaster he lives with as well as her. Episodes keep getting closer together. So after getting home at 10ish I relaxed with a little Wild Turkey and went off to bed. Let's have a shave report. I had this set out for Friday until Danny suggested yesterdays Razor and Soap. The shave from yesterday just didn't last as it's such a mild razor or as Danny called it a pussycat. It was a joy to get the Spiral Slant out again and get things glass like smooth that I  know will last until this evening. The soap is good but I don't get all the hype I read about before getting a Eufros. Again it is a GREAT soap but I am SO past the which is the BEST soap out there. We are so blessed with so many quality made artisan soaps that it is really splitting hairs to try and say who's best. I just enjoy the great soaps we can choose from and relish in the variety. Topped with John Varvatos and am going to sip some coffee and have a Pumpkin Chocolate Chip muffin before I need to tackle today. Life is Good as Tim would say. I love throwing some names in here to make it more personal but since I copy and paste this on a couple forums, I also get a chuckle as some may read and wonder........... WHO ?!?!?! I hope EVERYONE has a great day and Weekend !!!

Eufros really is excellent particularly when it comes to scents e.g. Lima-Especias (Lime Spices), Tobacco or Zanzibar.  But heck, we are blessed with so many good artisan soaps.  I have stopped trying to determine which one is the best.   I am in agreement with you on this.  I am not even sure that I know enough to really tell the difference except in gross terms.  For these reasons, like yourself, I am simply trying to enjoy a number of great choices.  Included within this is Eufros.  That should be good enough.

I also want to say that you are doing some really kind and caring things for your in-laws.

Razor: Roller Guard Razor
Blade: Wizamet (?)
Brush: Knothead Brushworks
Soap: Stirling Blood and Steel 2019 DC30
AS 1: Humphrey's Alcoholado Maravilla 70
AS 2: Proraso Green Splash
Fragrance: Guerlain Vetiver

The Roller Guard Company produced a baseplate that was for the Gillette Old Type and they are rare to find. I had one purchased from a member on B&B some time ago as MANY did because he found a huge stash at the time. They were new in the box and had the paperwork folded up in the tiny box.

I guess him having so many caused me to not recognize or appreciate they were as rare as they are and I foolishly sold mine for the fair price he sold them. I did remember the paperwork showing the Roller Guard Razor was available too but NEVER saw one..............until this popped up on eBay recently and I new if it went for fair money I would get it. I can't find the paperwork that came with the Baseplate alone in the green box but did find some for the Razor itself.

I believe these were from the 1920's. It looks like an Old Type. The Guard would feel VERY smooth with the spinning auger on the straight bar and could relly tame an old type Gillette which it was produced for. The Roller Guard Razor may look like an Old Type copy but to me it is MUCH milder. I'll need to compare them side by side when I get time. It seemed to have a narrow sweet spot for cutting and I was able to get a close shave although I question how long lived the closeness will be. The Blood on Steel was GREAT and again I am thankful for Charlie gifting it to me. I had another toy tool arrive yesterday and will take for a re-acquaintance spin maybe tomorrow. These were a long time in coming to production for Stirling and they came out beautiful. I wish ezlovan Rod and Mandy the best and appreciate the stress/trouble they must have endured to bring these to fruition.
