Thanks for letting me drop by. Mike Rowe did one of his The Way I Heard It podcasts on him. Bob Ross. If you’ve not checked out that podcast they’re fun and interesting. They’re always in a bit of a mystery format in that you don’t know who the subject is until the end but they’re only about 12 minutes long so the suspense is bearable. He calls it a podcast for people with a curious mind and a short attention span.

I'm not big on podcasts but may check it out. Everyone is always welcome here!

Razor: Gibbs #15 Clouds Brass Handle
Blade: Wizamet
Brush: Graydog Quilt
Soap: Dr Jon's Savannah Sunrise
AS 1: Humphrey's Alcoholado Maravilla 70
AS 2: Stirling Peach
Fragrance: CK One

1st off I forgot to mention that the gentlemen known as primotenore and I had exchanged some frags samples. I sent him the older Terre D"Hermes Edt and he sent the Parfum to me to compare. He has a much more refined nose and descriptions than I. My take was the opening of them had the Parfum slightly less dirty citrus and more to the bright side but on dry down they were very similar. There has been discussion that the after 2015/16 EdT is weaker. I was curious and have confirmed that the replacement should be the Parfum to get the same effect.

Just an amazing shave with the Gibbs today. I had not tried it with the Brass aftermarket handle yet and wanted to try it. I like both the extra weight it gives as well as the slightly more handle length. It was a winner for sure and we are glass like smooth today. Took today off the 1508.5 Project on Steroids but back at it tomorrow. Topped with some Stirling Peach Splash and some CK One EdT. Have a tremendous day guys !

Great write up Dave, and especially interesting to me. I’ve wondered about Terre d’Hermes ever since I got a bottle of their cologne. Granted, colognes tend to be weaker than EDTs and EDPs, but the projection on mine is really “intimate” (where “intimate is the euphemism for “meh”). IIRC mine is post 2016 too.

Beyond that, your new-handled Gibbs is a really sweet looking razor!

You have influenced my shave later today. It shall be the Gibbs w/ clouds handle paired with my Greydog brush. Software is usually a crapshoot with me. Either Ethos or Williams since they’re both out on the counter. Hmmmmmm...... maybe the fabled ShoGun edge’d straight from Fluffy....... I dunno, but I do know there will be a shave. Tongue
