It's no longer EO only. E.g. Bergamot & Bay is a mix of EO and FO - https://www.coldriversoapworks.com/store...6_Bay.html

Personally, I like the convergence of the premier and select lines into one soap base with many scent options.
The CRSW I've tried has all been quality stuff so these changes don't bother me any. But to say they've made the last couple of months a bit confusing for the consumer is an understatement. In hind sight just saying "hey we've upgraded our select base and added a few new scents" would have worked just fine. But no biggie it's just soap

Completely agree. Would have avoided a lot of drama with that approach. I think they have been in course-correction mode since beginning of the year, but at least are trying to react to feedback.

Yeah, the whole episode still confuses me. None in my den at the moment.

I have avoided this brand since they clearanced off their old tins without indicating what direction they were going in, and then once I finally started to warm up to them again, they change the packaging again, and then change the names... It's all confusing and seems unnecessary. The soap is damn good. I just wish there would be a little stability in the products. Just my opinion, I know others won't agree.

I'm not a big fan of packaging changes. So honestly I was pretty disappointed and frustrated to know that the packaging and change again. I contacted Larry though and he have sort out things for me for no issue.

In the near future I wish that CRSW will have more transparency and stability. Right now I have a few full same soaps because of packaging changes. If there are more changes, I may rebuy tub, or I will just avoid CRSW as a whole.

I'm an odd duck in many ways. One is that the packaging of soaps, and the frequency of packaging changes, doesn't bother me in the least. I have to admit, however, that I loved the all-white tubs that were available for a brief moment. I bought two of them, and find the soaps better than my Select V2 then in hand. (Not to mention the awesome all-white tubs, as opposed to the metal tins...) I trust this vendor with his product which, after all, is what it's about.

I have used one tin of their old Select soap and although it was a very good shave soap I won't be buying another. There are other top tier ones that are just as good and cheaper to boot. As well, there are new artisan soaps being introduced constantly and I find it far more interesting to break the monotony by trying some new samples. Kind of like the guy that has 27 ketchup packets in the fridge, but never buys a bottle.  Big Grin

Totally agree here. I only have Juniper in the all white packaging and wish he had stayed with the all white. I cannot even express how glad I am that CRSW ditched the metal tins. I HATE metal tins from any vendor even if it's just the metal top on the glass bottom. I am very careful with how I store my soap but the metal tins always seem to get dented especially in shipping. I will say that of the many soaps I have in tins Larry's tins were far and away the best ones though.

I love their soaps. Really really good stuff, but I can't say I'm not confused as well.. are the white tubs gone? re-formulated again?

After digging on their site I found a post about the most recent set of changes. Basically no more white tubs, everything has the new premium base but will be called select, and some will be EO only and some will be EO and FO.

The Select V2 formula is gone AFAIK and the new Select line is the rebranded Premium base. So the old scent from Select V2 as well as the new scent from the Premium are now in the new Select(Premium) base.
