I was thinking - now that Labor Day has marked the end of summer, sometime before the end of October, I'll swap the summer scent soaps for the cool weather scents.

Scent is a big deal to my nose, so I'll leave the thread about reeking soap scents for others to discuss.

Here's four of my cool weather-winter scents.

  1. Cur Et Epices - declaration Grooming
  2. Tobacco Road by Paladin
  3. Tertius - A & E
  4. Vetiver - Cold River Soap Works

I received a recent email that caught my interest and I've ordered WSP Black Orchid.  Its a blind buy, so I'll just have to try it and make a determination then.

Please add suggestions.  Anything with vetiver or leather piques my interest.

It's still in the 90's here is SoCal so cold-weather scents are still far from my train of thought!
But some other ones that I like are:
- Declaration Bon Vivant (not currently made but pops up on BST's sometimes)
- Tallow & Steel Dark
- B&M Cologne Russe
- Stirling Varen

So, the only scent we do that I would ascribe a season to is our citrus & vanilla offering, Black Tie Affair. What defines a cool weather scent to you guys? Gourmand, Smokey?

I have Black Tie affair.  I find it to me more of an "in between" scent.  Happily it works in any season.

For the cool season, for me, its leather, patchouli, hints of musk, light smokiness or tobacco.  And vetiver - often vetiver.

I think Bouki ’s thread on soap that reeks was intended lovingly as in strong scents you love that are polarizing. I don’t mind any opportunity to discuss soaps I love and some maybe not so much.

B&M Hallows
Highland Springs Soap Co/Australian Private Reserve Eclipse
Wholly Kaw King of Bourbon
The Club/A&E Signature
Declaration Grooming Dirtyver

These 5 spring to mind though there are others in my collection that may fit the bill.  You may still be able to find Eclipse at Pasteur's and Dirtyver is seasonal usually in very limited runs.  Hallows is also seasonal.

Indeed, I understand that some scents polarize.

Mostly I'm in the hunt for favorite cool weather scent suggestions.

The WSP Black Orchid arrived.  I haven't used it yet, but I think its a keeper
