Do you have a preference between the two ? Before shaving with them side by side i would have said that the ATT H2 was more efficient. However when comparing them directly it removed my preconceived notions and showed me that the Blackbird was just as efficient. This has also shown me how flawed comparing razors by memory can be.

I prefer how the BB shaves. I wish it took other handles all the way. I think an ATT bamboo or atlas would be perfect for the head.

This is by design. They are completely different razors that don't share a single common dimension. Comparing products within a brand is inevitable, but if the Dart were made by another company nobody would compare it to the Blackbird. Different price points, different target markets, and different shaving experiences.

Shane, In this instance I was comparing the Blackbird to the ATT H2 and was remarking that the shave felt very similar. Whether you take this to be a compliment to you or ATT depends on how you look at it. I think it is a compliment to both of you because they are both amazing razors. I get the impression that it irks you to see the Dart, your "entry level" razor(for lack of a better term) being compared to the Blackbird, your flagship. I think (I don't want to assume) that you meant The Dart to be a medium-ish aggressive razor that was an attractive option for those looking to a SS razor platform at a price point that would appeal to someone who wasn't quite ready to plunk down the cash for a more "premium" option. While I believe that the latter is certainly true, I can't say that the Dart is a medium-ish aggressive razor. The Dart is the most efficient/aggressive safety razor that I have used (and I have a pretty sizable collection of both vintage and modern safety razors) . The Dart is the only razor that I own that I can do two passes and walk away with a BBS shave. In this regard it eclipses even the Blackbird. I happily sing the praises of the Dart for what it is to me, the king of efficiency in my den.

Smile Not at all irked! I'd put the Dart up against any razor at any price point. The Dart is probably the razor I use most as of late so I certainly think it deserves to be in the discussion with those other razors. However, I don't often see the Dart compared to any other razors. Typically it's just compared to the Blackbird which I find perplexing. If you were car shopping you would probably compare the Civic to a Camry instead of to an Acura TLX even though the Civic and TLX are made by the same people. I'm also aware that this metaphor kind of breaks down, but you get the gist.

for your sake I will compare the Dart to other razors "in it's class", However I already know the outcome.

During the month of August I shaved with what I would consider my most aggressive razors. This was my ranking at the end of the month (in terms of efficiency):

Dart
Rex Ambassador (6.5)
ATT H2
Gillette Fatboy (9)
Leresche #34
FaTip Piccolo
Gillette Singe Ring
PAL Injecto-Matic
Cooper MonoBilt

Andrew, I think I derailed this thread in a way I didn't intend to. I actually think this review and comparison was well done and I didn't mean to hijack it. Carry on!

Those are two razors that I don't own and haven't used. Though I have see others report that the Dart is more aggressive then a 2013 R41. I would be willing to do the comparison given the opportunity.

I can loan you both, if you want. I've been mostly using my blackbird SB anyways....shoot me a PM with your address.
