Just curious, did you try it with pro supers?

I tried it with Pro Supers, Schick Prolines, and the regular Professionals.

Since artist club razors can be upped in aggression by using a Super blade, it wouldn't benefit the razor to be made much more aggressive with a standard Feather Pro blade.  The General as designed can be customized for pretty much any person, ranging from milder to more aggressive, depending on the blade used.  I think that's what makes the artist club-style razors so special compared to a typical DE razor that would need different base plates to accomplish something similar.

Very good common sense! That's why the General is such a great razor!

Unfortunately, the V2.0 General has been put on hold for the time being as the team over at Colonial concentrates their efforts into bringing their DE razor to market.

That's fine as I get great shaves out of both my Brass & Stainless Generals. Waiting is not an issue, for me at least.....

Well, since it looks like there won't be a V2 of the Brass General, I can still make do with the original. Still a supremely smooth and easy shaver on the face. Paired with a Feather Pro, Kai or Schick Proline it delivers excellent shaves. Match it with a Feather Pro Super and it's sublime.

But, I do hope that Colonial Razors does revisit the Brass General sometime down the road and bring forth a successor to this classic......

GlazedBoker, thanks for the tip about Feather Pro Supers. I just purchased a brass General & have ordered the Pro Supers.

Congrats amigo! It’s an exceptionally well made razor and smooth shaver. Shaves well with just about any blade you use except for the guarded ones as I’ve never tried those in the Brass General. I feel there is no need for those in this razor since it’s mild and not aggressive at all. But, that Feather Super just gives it the right touch with a bit more blade feel without giving up any of its smooth natured operation and comfort.

People might think I’m loco but, to me with the Feather Super it’s comparable in shave feel to the Paradigm SE with the same blade. And in my shaves just a bit more efficient feeling over the Paradigm. I think the weight of the Brass General might help with this feeling. Almost as good on the skin when comparing it to the Paradigm.

Anyways, happy shaves to you and please post your shave thoughts on it once you get a shave or 2 in.... Happy2
