ROUND POINTS ARE USUALLY USED BY NEW STRAIGHT RAZOR SHAVERS BECAUSE THERE IS LESS OF A CHANCE OF GETTING ACCIDENTALLY NICKED FROM A FRENCH OR SPANISH POINTED RAZOR. BASICALLY ITS PERSONAL PREFERENCE. IT DOESN'T SHAVE ANY BETTER OR ANY LESS.

Wow...that's a really good price on that razor. You can't even get the 3" strop for that price. I really hope someone jumps in a buys it up. Good razor at a great price.

I don't like using round points, myself. I have been so tempted by this post, but I just dont like using round points...

What's the difference?  I don't know a thing about straights, lol......

I shave around my beard at the cheek lines and above/behind my ears. For me, personally, a square point lets me get in closer and more accurately.

For someone just shaving their face, especially new straight shavers, round points are much more forgiving because you don't have a sharp spike that can dig in and cut. Accuracy for cutting in cheeks and avoiding ears is not as paramount on the face, either, as far as I can tell.

Round points are definitely more forgiving...
