tabac for me as well. the scent is highly controversial, but I quite like it myself.

Just out of curiosity, have you tried the new non-tallow Haslinger? Is it similar to the tallow based?

I forgot about that one because it's "new to me." The fact is, it's in my rotation now and I LOVE it.

Tabac--no problem with the scent although I generally don't use in the heat of summer.

Arko-- I have no problem with the scent

MWF-- good soap I use it like a shave stick with no problem lathering but it didn't knock my socks off but that could be due to all the hype I had read prior to purchasing

I have way to many soaps but I would like to try more of the classics like Palmolive, Speick, DR Harris.

Proraso for me. Good value for the money.
Tabas aswell.

It depends on what is meant by "classic". I am defining it as prior to the start of the current wetshaving revival, which began around 2000. So any shaving soap introduced prior to 2000 and still sold today.

The soap formulas for Art of Shaving and the Three Ts have changed, and some new scents added. If that disqualifies them, then it would be just Tabac and Mitchell's Wool Fat on my recomended list. What I have listed is based only on what I have tried over the past 10 years and can be purchased currently in the U.S.

No, and I am inclined not to as they "knuckled under" to animal rights activists IMO.
