The Chinese vendor Sapphoo is already known.
It makes copies of Feather / Kai razors with Artist Club blades.
Already offers the blades separately, at a good price.
Now it expands its offerings, not only on modern SEs.

These blades seem interesting to me.
Type Feather (Proshave)

Type Kai Captain (Blue, without guard)

Type Kai ProTouch (Red, with guard)

On average they have a price of about € 0.50 per blade.
Has anyone tried them?

Viva nella mia citta' preferita--Napuli!

With that out of the way, I haven't tried them but if you're curious, it's probably worth shelling out for a box. But I would compare apples to apples. I do find a difference between the Kai and the Feather blades. The photos look like the Chinese company is making knock offs of (a) Schick and (b)-© Kai. If you don't have the Schick Proline or the Kai blades, you should probably get some for a comparison. The other thing about the Schicks and the Kais is longevity. I average about twenty to thirty shaves per blade. Sometimes more. So the price is offset by the number of shaves per blade. The Chinese copies might be equally long-lasting.

Apropos of almost nothing the Chinese blades likely couldn't be sold in the US without a significant change in packaging; the packages are intended to cause consumers to assume they're buying Schick or Kai blades. The companies could enjoin that on US soil. But that is by no means to insinuate you shouldn't buy the Chinese blades, try them, and use them if you like them. We don't have to worry about Kai or Schick.

There's a "kink" when it comes to Chinese manuf. IMO based upon their goods and also on opinions of those Westerners who have worked there. That opinion is that the Chinese are quite capable of making excellent products....................................if there is a Western QC person riding "shotgun" on the manuf. process all the time and holding their "feet to the fire" legally. It's a country rife with corruption and counterfeit goods. So much so that head honcho of TaoBao, the Chinese "Ebay", has stated that if the Chinese Gov't were to harshly suppress counterfeit goods that their entire economy would collapse.

Be it known that every, and I mean EVERY, Chinese razor blade that I have used that was not made by either Gillette or Schick controlled Chinese factories was utter garbage. Caveat emptor.

Yes, this is my point.
My favs (Kai ProTouch) last about 30 shaves, three pass each.
I pay in bulk, about €0,65 each.
For me, they're cheap ... or best value, better.
And quality is great!!!

Thanks.
I'll pass to Feather fan friends.

Today more than yesterday.
This is the reason I've opened the thread.

I know people have the clone shavettes.
So I hope they got blades too, and used.
Here can be shared the relative experiences.

I'm not sure wich is the real one.
The products inside.
Or the box outside.

These days I am doing a test with the Sapphoo Red blade.
This is formally proposed as a replica of the Kai Captain Titan Mild MG ProTouch.
[Image: 78R5790m.jpg][Image: dy5QKGlm.jpg]

The first use (yesterday) was less comfortable than the original.
Even today, the feeling is that the edge is different.
Same effectiveness, but different protection.
In fact it can be seen that the guard is different.
The protections are wider, and less rounded.

To the eye they are very similar.
There are only a few differences:
• welding points, four instead of seven and less sharp
• straight shape of the guard openings, instead of a taller and wider bell shape
• the primary bevel is longer, and the secondary bevel shorter (different angle)
• steel has a different color and texture, due to the lack of Titanium and PINK treatments

So the performance, albeit similar, is different.
In the short term, I don't think the real differences can be understood.
Indeed the quality of Kai is the long-lasting ability of high performance.
I think this detail is difficult to replicate.
