Thanks for reaching out. I have most of the salves and aftershave samples in stock, and will be trying to work on that this weekend along with a bunch of other stuff I need to work on.

Unfortunately samples take exponentially longer to make compares to full-sized products, and I've been having to work 70-80 hours a week at my job lately, so I've had to concentrate on keeping the full sized bottles in stock with what little time I have to work on Chatillon Lux.

Hopefully we'll have them ready to go by the end of the week. I'll post here and on my social media feeds when they're ready.

Here's an idea, hold a contest.  Call it "Live the Life of the Artisan" and the winner gets to travel to St. Louis (on their own dime) and spend long evenings/nights bottling sample aftershave and then get up and shadow you at your day job for 12 hours!  How cool would that be?

Seriously, I hope the 80 hour weeks don't continue for too long, we don't want you burning out.  What would we do for aftershave!? Tongue  Seriously.

No worries, Mark, we're ramping up to working all weekend of the 23-25, then I'll be back to relatively normal. I plan on taking a vacation after everything wraps up...and will be spending my vacation time releasing the TSM Fougère. Plus, the aftershave making is a good relaxation technique. I can listen to music and podcasts and sniff things.

The contest DOES sound like a good idea, however. Heck, if they want to take my place in meetings where I don't plan on paying attention anyway, then by all means :p

TSM Fougère Official Announcement

As I have alluded to before, the official release of the TSM Fougère scent will be on Monday, October 3. It will be available through Chatillon Lux and Maggard Razors in an aftershave, toner and salve.

But here's the big news: it will also be available as an eau de toilette fragrance through Chatillon Lux, as well as a soap in L&L Grooming's bison tallow soap base, the same soap that the Champs de Lavande soap was released in.

The TSM Fougère will be a permanent release in the L&L Grooming lineup, while we will only offer a limited quantity of EdT bottles.

About the scent:

In 1838, the German Settlement Society of Philadelphia helped a group of immigrants establish townships along the Missouri River in an area that came to be known as the Missouri Rhineland due to its similarity to that Central European region. This area had a rich yet rocky soil and steep, rolling hills that were very familiar to these immigrants.

As they build their modest, sturdy and sparsely decorated homes, they began growing vegetables native to their homeland, like greens, turnips and cabbage. More importantly, they began cultivating vineyards in the same manner that they did in their homelands.

To this day, the Missouri Rhineland is a place were generous hosts welcome visitors from St. Louis, Kansas City and many other areas to enjoy their rustic wineries and stunning scenery. As visitors to the Missouri Rhineland navigate the rocky terrain on a bright spring day, the sharp green smells of the vineyards, combined with the blooming flowers among trees whose buds are suddenly transforming into leaves, fills the nostrils as the combination of sunlight and the warmness of a glass of wine envelop the senses.

TSM Fougère encapsulates that smell. Originally created to be a bright take on a fougère by request of The Shave Market on Facebook, the scent of first official aftershave of The Shave Market is now available to the public.

Prices

The scent costs for the TSM Fougère is significantly higher due to its usage of very high quality components. As such, prices will be forced to be adjusted accordingly:

Aftershave and Toner: $17 per 2 oz bottle
Salve: $12 per 2 oz jar
Eau de Toilette: $30 per 2 oz bottle
Shaving Soap: $25 per 4 oz tub

We appreciate your understanding and do keep in mind that these prices are only for this scent. All other scents will remain priced the same.

Shawn, that sounds fantastic! Now I have to add the Missouri Rhineland to my list of places to visit. I'm really looking forward to this release.

I have restocked all the toner samples except for one. The quantities aren't huge because I'm waiting on a delayed shipment of some supplies, but there will be a little bit of stock of everything.

Please pardon my ignorance but can the EdT be used as an aftershave? Or is it more intended to be used as the cologne after the aftershave has been applied? Sorry, I'm still trying to learn the basics on how to be a suave gentleman at 29 years old.

Can't really express into words how excited I am about this release.

Everyone had to learn at some point, no shame in it at all! The EdT probably has too high of a scent strength to be used as an aftershave in that its high levels could be irritating to freshly shorn skin. Also, there's nothing in there besides alcohol and fragrance. But you COULD use it as an aftershave, but it probably wouldn't be recommended.

Anyway, I'm glad you're excited! Thank you!

TSM Fougère update:

The TSM Fougère aftershave will be available at MenEssentials on their website and in-store. It will be for sale in-person at their meetup on 10/1, a couple days before it is released. Additionally, all of their aftershaves will be restocked soon, including a few extra of Colonia Balsamica since our buddies in the Great White North missed out on being able to get it during the spring season.
