Additionally, any Canadian and other international customers may use the code CANADASHIP to get $3.50 off their order (approximately the same discount that domestic customers will be receiving). These coupon codes begin at midnight tonight (January 8) and last through Tuesday, January 12. Valid at ChatillonLux.com

Also, we are officially licensed to begin working on our alcohol-based splashes. Look for those in a few weeks.
Sure does Marko and you even have a CA specific shipping discount through the 12th.

Point taken, thanks KevinSmile Yes I should read the darn post shouldn't I?
Thanks

Ha, I've done the same thing countless times. I get a question in mind and don't get around to reading the rest because I'm afraid I'll forget it by the time I finish. Or maybe that's just me with a terrible memory.

Regarding Bon Vivant:

"The Professor" Jerry Thomas was the first celebrity bartender and wrote the original guide to bartending: The Bar-Tender's Guide: How to Mix Drinks or the Bon Vivant's Companion. He had a famous stint at the original Planter's House Hotel in St. Louis and gained notoriety for a drink that was set aflame, then tossed through the air, back and forth between two mugs.

We created Bon Vivant as tribute to Jerry Thomas inspired by a whiskey drink with chartreuse and orange bitters. The scent itself is spicy and warm with a twist of citrus on the top. It is completely unlike any other scent creation that we have made thus far, and we are very proud to release such a sharp divergence from our scent line up.

In future news, we will be receiving our alcohol license any day now and will begin producing a new, alcohol-based aftershave upon its arrival. Stay tuned for details, and visit ChatillonLux.com this Saturday, January 3 to pick Bon Vivant up. Samples will be available for purchase, as well.

Is the alcohol-based aftershave available yet or is it truly "SOLD OUT" already?

Thanks!

Hawns, thats funny, partly its my memory and maybe some ADD, the posts can get pretty busy with replies and quotes and so forth and I generally try to go to the top of the thread but sometimes I'm confused.

I have a question about your products and shipping to Canada - do you think that freezing would be a problem? First, is the aftershave container glass? I find glass containers can break when the contents freeze due to expansion. Plastic containers have a little more give. Second, do you think the quality of the aftershave would be affected by freezing? I would certainly want to use your products in the quality and condition that you intend them to be used. Its -23C (-10F) here right now and I know from experience that liquids will freeze in transit and that glass containers will break. The old catch 22, alcohol based products won't freeze but they can't ship from the US. Thanks for your time, based on your response I may have to wait for warmer weather to sample your Product.

Hi racerx1 , hawns can better answer but I believe that it has not officially released yet based on an earlier post. I am with you- definitely want to pick up a bottle but if sold out will look for round #2.

Hey guys, thanks for the interest! It has not been released yet. I have ordered the ingredients and will update my progress in this thread. We are going to hustle as hard as we can to get it out ASAFP before our spring and summer scents come out.

We're also on Instagram and Twitter @ChatillonLux where we update more frequently

That is good to know - thought I had missed out already.  Maybe change "Sold Out" to "Coming Soon" to avoid confusion?

Thanks again!

Unfortunately that's something I can't control. I'm not a computer programmer at all so we use storefront software. As such I'm a slave to their word choice

hawns will Bon Vivant or any of your non-alcohol based aftershaves be negatively affected by freezing in transit? Also, are they in glass containers? I've had some negative experiences with freezing in transit and glass containers can break from the expansion. Certain items can only be purchased in warmer months.

I want to try your products as you are one of the only artisans I'm aware of that specializes in only aftershaves so I'm thinking they must be good.

Thanks,
Mark

I do indeed subscribe to the "jack of all trades, master of none" philosophy, Mark. A big reason why we only do aftershaves. Hopefully you'd enjoy them!

We do use glass containers and there is always a chance of freezing. The expansion on the salves shouldn't be an issue, because they are a pretty thick paste. Also, in the toner bottles we leave a little bit of room so that it can be shaken up before use. Additionally, there is a very small amount of alcohol in the toner from the herbal extracts, so possibly that could slow down the freezing process. On the other hand, I can't make any promises, but will certainly replace anything that arrives unusable.

So far we have not had any items negatively affected by freezing temperatures, including shipping up to Scandanavian countries, but this is our first winter, so far. It was more of a problem during the triple-digit-temperature parts of the summer when the heat would melt the shea-butter-based products, which is one of a few reasons we switched to glass jars for the salve.

But the short and skinny of it is that if you do order and they show up unusable, then we'll go ahead and replace them, no problem. But I understand if you don't want to risk dealing with the hassle, because when I order something then it sucks when it shows up and I can't use it, even if you do know a replacement will come shortly.

Edit: Also, sorry I missed your question above! I was on mobile and totally scrolled past it. My fault!
