Honestly, not much. It's more of a consistency thing. Our salves are about the consistency of a light hair paste, in part due to having approximately 30% shea butter. They may be a bit much for somebody with oily skin, and most guys use about a dime-sized dab for their faces. I only use them during winter when I'm getting windburn. In fact, the toner is just a little more liquid than the Neutrogena Sensitive Balm, especially with the glycerin and lanolin. Mainly I didn't want to call it a balm because when people were testing it thinking it was a balm, then they often used too much. When it was called a salve, guys were more likely to approach it differently.

And that's a big reason why the women who use our salves enjoy it so much: they don't have to use a ton of product to cover all that real estate.

Hey shavers,

Just an update to let you our Skin Salves for Her line is up and running at ChatillonLux.com

These come in four ounce jelly jars with knurling on the side that I think are totally cool. This is twice the product as our normal salves due to how our women customers use our salves for a post-shave, as well as a facial and body moisturizer. They wanted bigger jars, and so we gave it to them.

There are three scents that this comes in, which are more a response to the kind of scents our women customers wanted. Having said that, many guys enjoy these fresh, floral scents, as well. In fact, Champs de Lavande is our biggest seller at the moment period (in the toners and the salves).

The scents are

Le Jardin de Odile: Grapefruit, cucumber, magnolia, violet, lily of the valley, rose, tuberose, French lavender, sandalwood, amber

La Fleur de Carondelet: Rose, bergamot, orange, freesia, tuberose, jasmine, patchouli

Champs de Lavande: French lavender, ylang ylang, bergamot, black pepper and rosemary

Additionally, we do have samples of all our products available with costs similar to what you would pay for our full-size jars and bottles. These prices will go up in the near future, because it probably takes about 4 times as long to make a comparable volume of samples as it would full-size jars and bottles.

As always, I am always happy to talk shop, so fire away with any questions here, or email me (Shawn) at ChatillonLux [at] gmail [dot] com

Thank you to everyone who has supported us! And make sure you check out the DFS Movember auction.

BLACK CYBER HOLIDAY SALE! November 25-31 only at ChatillonLux.com

Skin salves for her: on sale for $13 (normally $18 for the 4 oz jar)
Post-shave salves: $8 (normally $10 for the 2 oz jar)
Post-shave toners: $12 (normally $15 for the 2 oz bottle)
Tea Tree Roborant: $13 (normally $16 for the 2 oz bottle)
Pre-Shave Butter: $7.50 (normally $8 for the 2 oz tin)

We will be building up as much stock as we can put together tomorrow night before the sale starts, but I will be visiting family Wednesday through Sunday and will not be available to make any emergency batches like I usually do when stock runs low. Due to this, we won't be able to give any rain checks. Also, Jason and I will work to begin fulfilling purchases in the order in which they were received the moment I get back on Sunday (or just me, as Liz is ridiculously pregnant and could pop any day now).

Thank you! Much appreciated. Also, there's nothing wrong for picking up a little something for yourself when you're giving gifts. Santa deserves a little something.

FYI - Starting December 27 we will be raising the prices for our samples. We're losing enough time and money on them that it's beginning to prevent us from growing as a company. We do want to continue to have samples available, but, to continue to be viable, we need to at least break even, but maybe even make a little bit of money off of them. So if you want to get a sample at the current prices, make sure to get them soon.
