Thank you, Jeff! I'm glad the first impressions were so great. Hope it gives you a great shave. I appreciate it!

Hey Shawn, I'm delighted to read the news that you're doing a regular thing now with Declaration Grooming (formerly L&L Grooming). Great scent great soap, who can complain about that? Now we just need to get Blackberry Blossom Bay on to that list Big Grin

Ha, well thank you for that, but you're asking a lot from two guys who both don't care for the smell of bay, haha

Its gotta be genetic do you think? I mean, I smell it and I know it isn't a scent that one would call "nice" but I just love it. Is that weird? Seriously though, I'll just take whatever you guys feel like making. I think you're both savants in your fields. Big Grin

My designer is having some personal issues, so I still haven't gotten a design. I am currently considering options on how to go forward. I would have tried to make one myself (even though I vowed to never do that again after the original EdT labels and the short-lived, second-generation aftershave/salve/toner labels), but I've had more to do than I can handle lately. I am now starting to think maybe the 29th-ish, but then again, I guess label printing companies are closed over Thanksgiving, so that could put another crimp in the plans.

So the long and short of it is that I'm trying to figure this out.

Thanks for the update hawns! I know it sucks having to rely on other people to get stuff done sometimes, but it is what it is. Thanks for doing what you do though! I know you put a lot of time and effort into this stuff and it makes all of our lives more pleasant (or at least better smelling)!

Yesterday evening I received Colonia Balsamica and I used it right away. Wow! Fantastic. Today my skin is still thanking me. I like the scent a lot even if, I don’t know why, I thought it was going to be more powerful, but it is the really a joy on the skin. It is thicker than any other AS that I have and the suggestion to applying to the wet skin is spot on.

I would like to try another one. Something strong(er) but I don’t like vetiver nor grassy or earthy notes a lot. May I ask for suggestions?

Also, I read somewhere else that you are going to propose a barbershop style AS. Is that correct?

Congratulations! Very good aftershave.

Thanks, glad you enjoyed it! Unfortunately, by the very nature of their molecular composition, citrus scents are difficult to make too strong without adding an unsafe ratio of fragrance to aftershave. If you don't like vetiver or grassy notes, I would say to avoid La Quatrème Ville. As far as recommendations go, maybe it would be helpful to know what kind of scents you do enjoy? Yuzu/Rose/Patchouli is popular for being citrusy with the rose and patchouli being down in the mix. Gratiot League Square does have vetiver, but it's not prominent, with leather, pipe tobacco, sandalwood taking the spotlight in that scent. Bon Vivant is a sweeter, more gourmand scent that is popular, but it does have a smoky note to it. If you're looking for a more citrusy scent, Fourth & Pine is almost straight citrus (although, again, being citrus, it will be hard to make it too strong) that is out of season, but I believe still in stock at Maggard Razors and Italian Barber. Champs de Lavande is lavender, but with a peppery earthiness to it. TSM Fougère is green and floral. Unconditional Surrender is pretty popular, but it is rich, powdery and woody with some floral undertones.

But I would probably not really recommend one over another without knowing what your personal tastes are.

Also, I will be doing a Movember barbershop scent, but it was a last minute thing, plus my graphic designer has some stuff going on in his life that is keeping him from work, so I'm just waiting on that. At the moment, I think the tentative date will be November 30, just because whenever it actually does get done, I will still have to send it off to the printer and wait for them to turn around the order.

Anyway, glad you're digging the aftershave! Thanks a lot!

Thank you very much. I ordered a bottle of Champs de Lavande.
... and a bottle of Colbeck as well Smile.

By the way, don't take me wrong. I REALLY like the scent of Colonia Balsamica, it is a favorite already.

And I am looking forward to ordering the "barbershop" AS. Is it going to be a powdery scent (last question, I promise)?
