Jeff, when I saw Shawn in late May, he gifted me with a small sample of the Lamplight Penance Parfum and I think it's fantastic.  I'm waiting for it to go up on the site and, of course, I'll have to get the aftershave, too.  hawnshas a way of emptying my wallet without ever getting anywhere near it. Shawn sent me a sample of Lamplight Penance with my last order. I carry it around in my bag everywhere I go. It’s more of a winter scent to my nose but, you know, Seattle summers... Awesome stuff. I’m definitely buying more.

Thanks! It's been getting quite a bit of great feedback, which is awesome because I'd been working on this forever and had such a specific idea in mind. After dozens and dozens of formulations I am super happy with how it turned it. It's the most story-oriented scent I've made yet.

Hi Shawn, I noticed that you've pushed out the Blackberry Blossom Bay indefinitely - whats up?

Do you think the bay leaf production will ever recover to the point where you might be able to do a "normal" run of Blackberry Blossom Bay? I've got plenty of BBB aftershave/toner but only one diminishing tub of the soap Sad I don't know what I was thinking only ordering one tub of soap at the time. Lesson learned.

I see that fall is coming to St. Louis, here too. We have snow in the forecast for later in the week. Big Grin

Unfortunately I have a festival I have a stand at this weekend, five new items releasing on September 22, a big promotion with Perfumariē in October, Lamplight Penance release on October 13, the STL event I am running on October 21, the Institute of Art and Olfaction's Scent Fair in Los Angeles on Nov 2-4, and then the holiday rush for the rest of the year.

So basically I don't know if I have enough time to pull all of that off as it is, and I know Declaration is also super, super busy. I thought it would be better to do it whenever I could take the time to do it right, plus the fact that I don't want to overload people with releases and make them feel like I am launching a full-scale assault on their bank accounts Smile

Also, our fall is maybe a little bit different than yours Wink Ours just meant I needed to grab a jacket, ha.

Edited for grammatical clarity

Remember when you used to do everything plus had a full time job? Big Grin I think your reasons are sound, I was worried it was something worse like inability to get supplies or armageddon. Its good to be busy, it means you must be doing something right, right?

I like the delay for BBB. Gives me more time to load my pennies into my penny bank...

Here's hoping! I'm just excited to move past the getting-ready-for-everything stage to the state where things actually start happening.

Remember the P to sixth power rule (I can't do superscript) Proper Planning Precludes Piss Poor Performance. Enjoy it Shawn, you've worked hard for a very long time, now its show time. Or as JCVD would say, its go time! Big Grin

Check out this four-star review of Lamplight Penance by renowned critic Luca Turin. I submitted this year's releases for the next edition of Perfumes: The Guide, and he liked it so much he wanted to post a review right away:

https://www.perfumestheguide.com/blog-1/...eather-rum

But in case we get ahead of ourselves, a reminder that this Saturday, September 22, La Forêt de Liguest and the new Skin Salve lines will be released. It drops at high noon Eastern and the soap of La Forêt de Liguest will only be available through DeclarationGrooming.com and in one run only. The Chatillon Lux products in La Forêt de Liguest (aftershave, toner and EdT) will be available through the end of the year, while the Skin Salve series (Fresh Citrus, Pure Lavender and Unscented) will be permanent additions.
