I know Brian said he is not making stainless heads anymore but did anyone find out why? Any chance a group can collectively convince him to do a limited run?

For those interested, craft and lore has a very easy to follow guide on how to age/darken brass instruments. https://craftandlore.com/blogs/journal/h...a-on-brass

As for the CG gen3, I have the level 2 & 3. I do not own or have ever used the previous gens due to lack of availability. I love this razor with both plates. I can use the level 2 everyday and the level 3 every other day. The level 3 gets me the closest without alum burn the quickest compared to my other razors that include - blackbird ti, Karve d plate, wr2 SS 1.45, wr2 ti 1.05, timeless ti slim, gamechanger .84, and Tatara muramasa. Only the Rex ambassador comes close.

Looking at the shape of the heads, it seems that the previous generation heads may have been biased towards the cap. I find the new head work better for me riding the guard, on both level 2 and 3. Obviously, YMMV. Happy shaves!

Just received level 2 from Brian. This is the first CG razor I have tried. Gotta say this was one of the best shaves I have had in quite awhile. Mowed through the hair with a Feather (2). Lots of audible feedback. Very easy to use. Nice BBS in 3 passes.

Just received an email stating there is a sale on the remaining charcoal goods razors in stock, and that will be it. Brian retired at the end of 2022 and is done making razors.

Thank you Brian. Your razor were not just efficient and smooth but very artistic and creative. Our hobby is less complete with your retirement as your artisan skills will be missed.

Best of luck in your future activities

Bummer, some of my favorite handle designs and the lvl2 has been one of my favorites. Was hoping to grab a SS or copper version if there was gonna be another run. Will definitely be missed

Brian should sell the designs to another vendor like Blackland to keep his razors alive.

That's what I was thinking. Or maybe have Yates keep making them and Brian keeps a royalty for each razor sold.
