Brian is using brass because the other metals are very expensive.

I have both.  I found the CG gen 3 lvl 2 to be more aggressive without being more efficient. The CG has zero drag and I love the finish, but I can’t use it more than a few days in a row.

The Overlander has a wee bit of drag and a bead blasted finish and I can get a smooth, comfortable, close shave every day without irritation. The two complaints I have about it are probably related - the bead blasted finish and the small amount of drag.  The superlative shaves I get with it as a daily shaver more than make up for it.

The Overlander with a CG finish might be a grail razor for me.

Brass is incredibly easy to polish. I used a dremel to achieve this, but flitz and some elbow grease couldve likely gotten most of the way here. The cruddy thing about the overlander is the lack of knurling so I didnt polish the middle part.

That looks amazing!! My initial goal was to keep the Overlander as far away from the dremel as possible. Now I am tempted.  Which polish and polishing attachment did you use?  Did you also do top of the baseplate and bottom of the cap?

Roughly about 2 hours and a lot of elbow grease. Get used to your hands cramping up and fatigue.

Good thing I ordered some drill polishing pads today

Hollow unfortunately. Looks like all four are the same size and use an engraved piece of brass tubing with two brass endcaps pressed in. The 3 piece handle construction probably necessitates the longer 3.5" length (vs the 3" length of the original hammered and maze). Stinger looks to be slimmed down to match the others. I wouldn't mind a smaller stinger in a solid version like the old 3" handles, but I'm not really interested in these hollow handles. I hope Brian decides to make the original solid versions again sometime in the future.
