I have CG OC & SB in Lv 2 & 3 brass. Do I want a CG in stainless ? I really like the brass models I have.

BTW ... he characterizes a "Lv 2 as (Mid-Aggressive) - Similar to Gillette New, Timeless .95"

IME the level 2 might be like a Gillette New, I really don't remember from when I have one, but it is NOT like a Timeless .95. A level 3 is more like the T.95 IMO.

Anyone else agree with that ?

I haven’t used level 3, but I would compare the level 2 with the timeless .95 as being about equal in aggression.

If you like Muhle R41 efficiency you’ll love the Level 3. Just as efficient but much much more smoother and comfortable. But I think you should have gone for some Level 2 goodness

I own three Level 3 razors in brass. It’s just as well that he seems to be sold out of Level 3 stainless razors...

P.S. I don’t find the Level 3 any more aggressive than the stainless Timeless .95 open comb, but both the open comb and straight bar L3s are more efficient (on my face).

I remember reading on his site that the blade gap on L2 and L3 is the same...he achieves the added aggression/efficiency
of L3 through other head design tweaks...quite remarkable.

Very interesting, I didn't know that. When I first read that the Blackbird only has a blade gap of .58 I was quite surprised. It is not the part, but the whole that makes the shave what it is.

Gap in and of itself means nothing. Only time an increase in gap means more of anything is with 2 identical razor designs

I think there's actually a pretty noticeable step between LVL 2 > Timeless 95 > LVL 3

I own a level 3 and it's very definitely a 'special occasion' razor when I want to do the whole battery of things (pre-shave, get one of my very best soaps, alum, witch hazel, post shave and balm) whereas lvl 2 is a braindead razor for daily driving and the 95 for me is more like, one or two days a week in a rotation of a little bit less present razors.
