Hey folks,

I'm Justin from Bufflehead Soap Co. We're a small batch, boutique artisan out of Nashville, TN. Our shave soap recipe is unique and features RSPO certified sustainable palm kernel oil, farm raised, cruelty free duck fat, and blush kaolin clay. We also hand blend our scents in-house and each one is special to Bufflehead Soap Co.

Currently we have 4 Classic scents, 4 Seasonal scents a year, and any number of unannounced and one-off Limited scents. From time to time, we've also been known to push out some high value brushes in limited quantities.

Check us out and feel free to ask me any questions you may have!

A suggestion : a sampler of your four regular ("classic") soaps to help people discover your products.

I get requests for samples from time to time. As it stands right now, we can't keep up with the current demand. I do try to include a free, empty sample jar with each soap ordered through the store. That way, you can share it with a friend if you'd like.

Justin, welcome!

A Little professional curiosity, if you don't mind. Why did you pick base palm oil?

I used palm kernel oil in lieu of coconut oil for a couple of reasons. PKO tends to skip the frothy stage during loading that most experience with coconut oil - resulting in a faster load/lather. It's also a lot less voluminous than coconut oil, leaving a more compact/denser lather. Finally, most find it to be more gentle than saponified coconut oil (less drying).

I'd say we don't see it as much because palm products generally have a negative stigma due to their contribution to the destruction of the world's rain forests. We only use PKO from certified sustainable farms as a result.

What, you're in Nashville? How have I not been aware of you until now? I live just north of Nashville in Springfield. Do you happen to have anywhere local where I can check out your stuffs? I'm going to be looking for some more info here shortly. Just have to finish up work.

Yes, Nashville.

Unfortunately we're not in any local stores. You're always welcome to swing by and pick up soap to save on shipping, though.

Any idea when you will have your soaps back in stock?  The packaging alone screams quality.

I can typically put out about 100 every 2 weeks or so if I can make one batch a night. It's been selling out within a day or two, which is much faster than I can make it.

I should have some stock back up next week.

this is incredibly good soap, guys. i'll be honest, i'm a little resistant to even trying other soaps these days but after acquiring a couple of these, i'll make sure to get them all. wonderful performers and great scents, to boot.
