The nifty, Thrifty way.
In the end it is much cheaper.

I have my Simpson Special Best Badger in a 2" by 4" Standard Viewtainer tube. We have had these around the house for years. These tubes are excellent for shaving brushes and are durable and low cost. The top slips off easily and is a "squeeze open" like the old squeeze coin purses from the 1950's-60's, and so the brush can breathe when the top is on the tube. Their catalog has many sizes and colors. Website is www.viewtainer.com. I have not seen these in Lowes or Home Depot stores for some time, but they are showing on the Home Depot website.

My Nathan Clark custom was sent to me in one of these several years ago. The local pharmacy here gave me a couple of tall, jumbo pill bottles that work great also. I just drilled holes in the top. I usually travel with a synthetic anyway so drying isn't an issue. I don't travel with anything I would be afraid to lose though. I don't trust TSA, AND I have had my luggage lost more times than I can count.
