Thank you gentlemen. Ken sent me one of his new knots to test (28 x 55.5mm loft with a 7mm glue-bump, allowing for a 48mm free loft) in a Butterscotch Chief.

Din, the new hair is excellent; very dense, with very soft tips and strong backbone. It really is opening up, very well and I am enjoying, greatly.
I would highly recommend them and this colour of Butterscotch if the most beautiful I have seen. I am very honoured to have this brush and I only hope I can capture its beauty in my photos. Shy

Thank you NeoXerxes this knot actually has whiter tips ( whiter than my picture depicts ) and the hairs are much stiffer than my High Mountain Whites.

That is a gorgeous brush. I believe it is European White since the knot cup is white. The knot cup would be black for a HMW knot. I have a similar brush and it is wonderful.

This is a Lee Sabini brush pre M&F and probably purchased around 2008? Anyway it is the same badger as the early Rooney finest Knots. This thing is huge and luxurious and probably only the second time I have used it. This is the reason for this thread, to rediscover brushes that have been waiting patiently for me to love them again.

I was wondering...when you say early Rooney Finest knots, are you making a distinction between batches of Rooney finest knots? Or are you just saying that this brush has the same hair that you would find generally in a Rooney Finest?

Just meant that this was purchased as Finest badger hair from Lee around 2006-2008 when Finest was still an option for Rooney brushes and Lee was involved with them. So supposedly this is the same or very similar hair type, in any case it is wonderful stuff.

I have a Plisson Plexi that I picked up NOS back in November.  I believe this specific script decal was used in the 1980's. Plisson also used the English "Pure Badger Sterilized" in place of the French during the 1980's. And yes, Dinder1 this European White hair is much stiffer and performs similarly to two band, while the High Mountain White is much less stiff.  Wonderful brushes!  Here is a picture of mine:
