How are the new Astra SP?  I liked the old ones just fine.

In my thread on this forum where I evaluated about 75 blades, I tested the Astra SP blades from India, at least I think they were from India, although some of the packaging hinted at Russia. With the newer blades I got the same awful results that I have gotten with ever Astra SP blade I have ever tried. I have a tough beard and sensitive skin and have always found the SP blades to be too dull and too rough for comfort. In contrast, the Astra Superior Stainless blades from Russia are very sharp and smooth. However, I realize that some people do not have tough beards and some do not have sensitive skin. If the old Russian Astra SP blades work well for you, you should have no issue with the newer ones from India.

As you age, it is likely that your beard will become more difficult to shave and your skin will become more sensitive. Thus, I would not suggest stocking up on too many Astra SP blades as one day they might no longer provide you a satisfactory shave. There are many blades that are sharper and smoother than Astra SP. Some are no more expensive.

PAA Stranglet. The only blade I've read about where users toss the blade after one swipe. From personal experience, they're terrible.

That is one I definitely have to revisit. I have them and it’s been a few years since I tried one for me. It was up there with the Astra SP where every time I used it, I got nicked.

The graphics on the blade are amazing too bad the blade isn't. BTW I just got my password back after 5 weeks. FWIW the pw retrieval is now working.

I'm not a fan of Nacet or Feather blades. Nacets irritate me from shave 1 to whenever I toss it and Feathers are only good for one shave, maybe two, then they also irritate me. No longevity at all with Feathers.
