Have you tried corking and stropping before each usage. Generally, Nacets at least serviceable in any razor if so prepped.

Agree blades personal and also razor specific. In the case of Timors, find they outstanding in duFours.

Favourite allaround blade is Israeli Red Personna - pretty damn good in every razor so fitted

Could be true about corking and stropping. But, to me, unnecessary work if I've other blades that work without needing to do extra prep.  Have some Red Personnas, tried them about two years ago, maybe should find them and retry again....thanks Dan.

Without intending to be boorish nor churlish, the process takes about 30 seconds total; however, will concede your point. Have you considered that it may improve favoured blades as well?

Good point.  Have only ever tried it once or twice but also a long time ago.

Hmmm, the Voshkod isn’t my favorite, but I have used it for a mild day with no complaints - in a Blackbird OC. In a less efficient razor, yeah, it can be a letdown.

In general though, I like very sharp blades, and I’m not interested in suffering through poor shaves to wear a blade in before it gets good. I’ve tried Lab Blues multiple times, but always swap them out early. I know they are supposed to get better on subsequent shaves, but if it isn’t good by the end of the first pass at least, time to move on.

I think the KAI is probably the most misunderstood blade out there. It has a reputation for being very sharp (not really) or extra thick (which it isn’t - I measured). I agree that it feels a bit stiffer though - maybe a unique alloy? What it definitely IS, though, is extra WIDE (again, I measured). That is going to increase blade exposure, which for many may increase efficiency in a mild razor. Not saying it’s a bad blade, but the mythology is very misleading.
