Blades: Remove after every shave?

Loosen the head of the razor, rinse under warm water, set it aside while I clean up the brush, etc. dip head with razor in rubbing alcohol and then store it. Today I did this with a Personna Red and so far I have gotten six great shaves on my wiry beard.

I carefully disassemble and clean all my razors after every shave, which includes taking the blade out and wiping off. We have very hard water and I do not want water stains (or rust) on my gear, plus I think it's kind of gross to leave gunk on the razor.

If using my Timeless, I remove the blade, wipe the razor down and replace the blade FLIPPING the blade upside down. Meaning the side facing up is now facing down. If using a TTO razor, I remove the blade, shake or blow the excess water off (I don't wipe the open barn doors) and then replace the FLIPPED blade.

Also, when replacing the blade, I close the razor and then back off 1/4 turn to take the tension off of the blade.

I believe flipping extends the life of the blade, slightly and gives a better smoother shave. No stats to back that up just 30 years of anecdotal evidence.

With DE TTO razors I just open the doors and rinse with water. Followed by a spritz from a spray bottle with 91% isopropyl alcohol. With a SE I pull the blade and rinse both sides off followed by spritz of alcohol. Then prop blade up to air dry. I never try to wipe a blade dry for fear of cutting myself or dulling the blades edge.

I disassemble the razor and pat everything dry including the blade. It keeps everything looking nice and only takes a minute. I shave 6 days a week, 6 face shaves and 6 head shaves with the same blade with no issues. Blades get changed every Sunday after the shave

Just rinse the blade and pat it dry on a towel. The other parts rinse and dry then reassemble. After a couple of shaves I dip the head into alcohol.

Depends on the razor. Most I simply loosen slightly and rinse as a unit. With my ATT G1 I am even cautious doing that.

When i'm done I rinse my razor with water. I use an old toothbrush to brush out any difficult soap or hair clumps left. I towel dry the razor. The next time i go to use my razor i flip the blade over and start using it.
