Blade Surprise!!

Look what a Mexican amigo brought me as a surprise!!




These were made in Brazil and are obviously NOS. I have used the same version made in Mexico before of which I have a few left and those are indeed up to snuff re Gillette quality. Great blades, that is. I imagine these will shave the same. Blade code is N 1 = 1993 I believe.

It was pointed out to me on another forum by an Argentine that this blade was made in 2017 and not 1993. I guess they are still making them there, although he said it's the only Gillette DE blade readily available there.

They used to recycle their blade codes and re-use them when the codes ran their course. You think the N code just re-emerged in 2017?

Gillette date codes recycle every 25 years. A-Z(Q is not used)

An N Gillette date code would be 2018 BTW

He pointed out to me another method to determine DOB that is printed on the tuck box as made in Brazil. It's marked 2017.
