I was thinking of using a Gillette Rubie or Gillette Nacet first with this razor and because I have seen some of Ols67 sotd photos, he has inspired me to use a few vintage blades. If you wouldn't mind mentioning which Carbon you have and what you like the most when it comes to blades. I usually try to shave with more growth as opposed to shaving daily in case you want to recommend me a certain blade.
Thanks everyone and cheers!
Love to hear your reviews on both baseplates especially the ++

Ols67 Wrote:Hi Zac! Geez...I don’t think I have used a bad blade in the Carbon Shaving Co Razor. I got some spectacular shaves with the vintage Wilkinson London Bridge blade, and I have recently been blown away by the vintage made in England Gillette Super Silver blades.
As far as modern go, I had a few great shaves with the Astra blades in the Carbon!
I think you are really going to like the Carbon!
Congrats!

Thanks Andrew and Matt for your replies. I guess my razor will be here early this week so I will get a sotd video up in the middle of the week. Not sure if the ++ will be here by then, but if so, I would rather shave with the ++ first.
rawfox1 when was the last time you shaved with the Carbon?
A big reason I have been wanting to try the Carbon is there are a lot of people who like this geometry and mention good efficiency as well as good comfort. I have been wanting a modern razor that can replace the BBS-1 that is currently available. I have tried quite a few Wolfmans and as much as they were nice, they were a bit mild and the aggressiveness wasn't there. Now I haven't tried the WR2 design or had the chance to play with a 1.55 gap, etc but I hope to find something a bit different with this razor.
Ols67 Since you mentioned Astra Greens, which I like quite a bit in different razors, have you tried the Red Pack Israeli Personnas?
