I continue my search for a great “for me” SE style AC razor.  I love the blade in a Feather or Kai shavette style straight, but I have never been able to duplicate the smoothness with a SE razor and the same blades.

Edit: I should say that I do get a decent shave out of the original Cobra Classic.  But I don’t care for the hinge design which detracts from the overall appearance, nor do I care for Classic Shaving's “we just put 4 up for sale” approach.

I've even tried every AC blade available in a CJB Kamisori and still no dice. They all felt very dull and tuggy to me which I don't get because all you usually read about is how sharp these blades are. Oh well, I've decided I'm not going to waste anymore time on them.

I had a similar experience.  Final combination that made me love the AC SE razors and blades was the ATT SE1 (Kronos handle because that Bamboo handle was awkward for me) with a Schick P-30 blade...something about those P-30 blades that marries smooth and sharp just so right...

I don’t much care for the CJB razors, the balance is all off to me. The standard style Kai Captain Excelia works very well although they are no longer being made.

Very much looking forward to the new razor, it looks like it may be a real winner.

The blades definitely have a huge impact on how Artist Club razors shave. For instance, I’m impressed with the Schick Proline in my Mongoose, but it’s just garbage in my Above the Tie Calypso SE1. On the other hand, the Feather Artist Club Professional is great in the Calypso.

The Mongoose is a real sledgehammer, whereas the Calypso SE1 is really light, so this new design by Shane looks very promising in both the aesthetics and the weight departments.

Nothing confirmed yet Gents, but the razor is close. I don't know if this is the handle for it or just one that was just attached to it to take the quick vid, but the head looks phenomenal......

Love the small head. Should make for a very maneuverable razor. Like the original Cobra Head was. Can’t wait to give this a try.

Head looks slick can't say the same for the handle though.

This a just one of the user’s spare handles. Nothing like the actual handle.
